BitMint?

You mean Bitmit.net? If so, I've used it on a few occasions to buy some gold and other bits and bobs.
I'm in the UK too and you're right, there is not a lot being offered, but I think it hasn't had much exposure/advertising.

I've never had any issues with it, but watch out for scams.

Escrow is enforced by default, I believe: I was selling something the other day, and out of interest tried to disable escrow, but I was told I couldn't, which is good I suppose.

Stick away from any one selling any programs which you run on a PC, I've noticed a few suspicious ones on there.
Other than that, it seems like a reasonably safe place to shop.

Its a great site theirs only been one scam that I've seen and it involved the guy creating 25+ fake accounts and buying his cheap amazon giftcards he has escrow off. So never deal with anyone who decides to disable escrow

Also beware of new accounts selling gift cards.  You may find those gift cards get cancelled due to chargebacks.

I've bought a few prepaid LoL cards off there without any problems. Never bought anything without escrow.
