According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I think that millionaires like Lord Warren Buffet dont invest into this coins. His investor life's is too much different about what bitcoin offers. He might have bigger returns that what bitcoin has.
Warren buffet was the first person to make a profit of 42% yearly in US Dollars, and i dont think he would waste his time into this..

With the level of Warren Buffett, its really possible for him to buy a lot of bitcoin today. However, I don't think that they are into it right now because those guys are onto really stocks and I heard that they are saying negative things about bitcoin like it is a "poison rat" or something. So I doubt they multi billionaires specially him, who are pro banks will go into crypto market.

Although I believe as well that they are billionaires into it but not Warren, and yes they are using hedge funds company to but it for them because they don't want to risk to be exposed. But there was one billionaire who's name I totally forgot said that he is invested in bitcoin already.

Warren Buffett warned investors to stay away from Bitcoin, calling it "a mirage," saying that, while it may be a better way of transmitting money, the "idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke."

"The historical track record of old white men crapping on new technology they don't understand is at, I think, 100%," said venture capitalist (and younger white man) Marc Andreessen.

Warren Buffett has made his money in the old Fiat system and he does not understand new cutting edge technologies, so it is a natural response from someone who will most likely stick to something they know and understand.

Bitcoin has outperformed Buffett’s " Berkshire Hathaway for the last few years, so that must tell you something. ^smile^

We couldn't say He is already all the money then He won't need to invest on Digital Currencies.
Remember, they took the risk on investing on any potential business and income especially now that they have funds to invest as well.
Warren Buffet and other rich individuals are taking the risks but this time I never thought BTC has a big risks for everyone.
So my answer is YES

I disagree, you can't say Old Billionaires can only invest the old ways, they're become rich because of their flexibility and personal knowledge transformations. They invest which they believe they can earn and so as people.

I disagree, you can't say Old Billionaires can only invest the old ways, they're become rich because of their flexibility and personal knowledge transformations. They invest which they believe they can earn and so as people.

Warren Buffet stays away from investments he does not understand in. Historically he has not invested in technology because he knows that he cannot value it properly.

Additionally bitcoin does not generate any non speculative returns. Unlike a stock in a company that generates income every year which returns value to the investor in the form of dividends or share price appreciation. In the case of bitcoin the return is purely what you can sell it for in the future. Buffet's definition of an investment is that even if it has no market price you are still happy to hold it because it has underlying value. eg. Real Estate which pays you rent, stake in a company in which the company is making money every year. Bitcoin does not fit with Buffet's definition of investment so he says it is a "mirage".

Buffet's investment truly allows him to hold forever. Even if the market price of his investments come down he still holds because the investment is paying him every year. He really doesn't care about the market price, as long as he bought at a reasonable price in the first place (which he always manages to do). We cannot say the same for bitcoin, where the return on investment is completely dependent on price.

Even though Bitcoin has great potential, we are all just still speculating on the future price, and panic selling, FOMO, FUD is all part of that. You will never see Buffet panic selling, because he doesn't puts himself into a position where he has to.  Grin

Buffett probably would not have brought bitcoins as he have said that he is not a believer of bitcoins and is quiet risky to invest in. But i think that he would have invested in bitcoins secretly as everyone is tempted for such high returns.

since Warren Buffett is a rich person, he can easily access to many places and he can invest his money in any place he wants. There are likely a thousand things for rich people to invest their money in, not only bitcoin. Maybe he did buy some bitcoin, maybe not. But I do not think that he is the one who caused the big incease in the price of bitcoin

yes the return rate is very high because of how bitcoin is and it is being adopted and grows day by day. BUT people like Warren Buffett know a lot of ways to make a lot more profit than just using something small like bitcoin. in comparison the return that bitcoin can give them is not really high! and it has a lot more risk too.

This "too rich for tech" is a little too convenient to believe, even if there is an ounce of truth in it. Old white men crapped on the notion of personal computers, before taking a shit on the concept of the Internet. Bitcoin's the new crapper for most of them. But 100%? Plenty of vocal older white men have bought into Bitcoin. Bernanke (former US Federal Reserve Chairman) a few years back when I was dabbling in forex, Mr Bill When He Was Richest Man in The World Gates... Mr Cheapo Richard Branson. Then there're those secret "angel investors" backing blockchain startups, well past retirement age.

Bitcoin only has a few years, so time will tell. Buffett had a tough learning curve and you still gotta respect the sly streetsmarts people like him had to have to make it in their world.

maybe warren buffett buy bitcoin and not telling into public because some rich people don't like to telling to other people about their source of income. they prefer to make money without anyone know where its come from. if i were rich person, i am not gonna tells too, maybe i will give big clue but not into deep.

Rich people have resources we usually don't have. They can easily get into something or invest on anything and the legalities are not in their personal name but on holdings they have. There are those who are avoiding the media so they bought Bitcoin secretly. There is a big possibility that Warren is already into Bitcoin and other coins in the market.

Exactly! If I am a millionaire and want to multiply my fortunes thru Bitcoin then I would do it secretly since aside that there is no real good effect for them which most likely it will lead to either put tax on the large money I had invested or they come up an idea that as if I am evading paying tax. If we weigh the advantages of the public to know then I say that it wpuld be better for them not to know for your own sake.

Who knows? The rate of return is so high。

Probably they already bought it some 2 or 3 years ago. I doubt that they just heard it only now or just in the past years. For me i think that is the reason why btc has reached this price. Because many rich people had invested in btc. Heck they can even have there own infrastructure just for mining. As long as there are any oppurtunities that these guys will get rich, they would take chances to have it. Probably satoshi even sold some btc in the early years and thats how it even became famous.

the issue with some people is that they think bitcoin is the only thing that can give such profits. there was actually a topic here about a stock that is currently 200,000 dollar and Warren Buttett is involved in it and that was once less than 1 dollar.

you see he is making a lot more profit in a lot easier way than bitcoin.

Warren Buffett has no bitcoins.
They do not match with his investment strategy. Buffett mainly invests in underevaluated businesses.
Concerning bitcoins he once gave the advce: 'Stay away from it!'.
Buffett is turning 87 in six days. I am raltively sure that crypto currencies are too far away from the stuff he used to work with for decades.
