Who knows?
The rate of return is so high。

You will never know this, he's Warren for a reason. These guys often have proxies and off shore companies, then they have so many firms and investment and one of them could have brought it and hid it so well, that people will never even know about it. That's the way they become rich, they know to capitalize, I have a gut feel he owns it. For him it will be just a stock and he will easily buy it and sell it off, without anyone knowing, then convert the Fiat into one of his investment and he has his money back with profit.

He is not into bitcoin, Warren Buffet is a smart guy, he knows what he wants, and bitcoin is not his craft, why he will involve himself to this new thing, he is now 86 years old turning 87 this coming August 30. Maybe his desire today is about his good health. Well advance Happy Birthday Mr. Buffet.

Warren Buffett is a great investor and for sure he did not let bitcoin pass to him and he actually invested in bitcoin even a small percentage of his wealth. Warren Buffett always invest in the good investment and we all know that bitcoin is one of the good investments so there is no hesitant that Warren Buffet put a load in bitcoin.

He is a businessman, everything he will do all because of money and to earn a ton of profit. We dont know if warren knows bitcoin or not, or he owns a thousands of bitcoins. Well as my opinion warrens has heard bitcoin and knows bitcoin but i dont think he invest on it because he only focuses business in real life and doesnt know about the digital currency.

Nobody knows, but I'm sure he knows about bitcoin and has a big plan about bitcoin. If he had certainly would not be told to anyone.

Warren Buffett warned investors to stay away from Bitcoin, calling it "a mirage," saying that, while it may be a better way of transmitting money, the "idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke."

"The historical track record of old white men crapping on new technology they don't understand is at, I think, 100%," said venture capitalist (and younger white man) Marc Andreessen.

Warren Buffett has made his money in the old Fiat system and he does not understand new cutting edge technologies, so it is a natural response from someone who will most likely stick to something they know and understand.

Bitcoin has outperformed Buffett’s " Berkshire Hathaway for the last few years, so that must tell you something. ^smile^

Why shall he take the risk while he is doing good with what he currently does? Even if he is surely not alone to research/take decisions etc he is from an old generation and from the "stock picking" generation. His base has always been to buy ugly asset but with a potential hidden..
After all, with a 20-30% profits yearly it's enough, let' us grab the money now Grin

Yes, for these reasons is very unlikely Warren Buffett invested in Bitcoin. Also, having studied his investment strategy, I know he's a very cautious guy, who rarely take risks in his investments. He prefer to put all his money in more stable businesses and safe place. Bitcoin is too volatile for his mindset. He never invested in something like this.

Anyway, what he said about Bitcoin is not so wrong. This "while it may be a better way of transmitting money, the idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke." He considers Bitcoin more a payment system than an asset.

Exactly,no one knows. One of the reason why i like bitcoin, you cannot know who really holds bitcoin and who doesn't hold and how much ever they may hold, atleast people won't interfere in other people's life. And criminals take advantage of this feature, which is causing bitcoin's name to be bad.But who cares because the price increase and so many features were introduced only for the good people ,which is people who use bitcoin on a regular basis don't care if people who have never use bitcoin say that bitcoin is shit.So if Warren Buffet bought it or not,he is an amazing investor,he will make wise decision which is why he is one of the richest and talented people on the planet Earth.

Buffet has said three years earlier that Bitcoin is a more modern version of writing cheque and has also adviced investors to stay away from it.He also added that bitcoin has no intrinsic value. But it is said that buffet does not understand new technologies and has avoided investing in such new tecnologies through out his careeer. So,he has no clear nderstanding about bitcoin being an ultra new technology. But since three years had gone and bitcoin value has developed much high and bitcoin industry has progressed more, buffet might have changed his decision and it would not be a surprise to find him to have invested in bitcoins now.

I am pretty sure at this level of visibility of bitcoin that anybody involved in any area of finance will be aware and will have probably bought some bitcoin.
He has spoken out publicly against Bitcoin, it has been mentioned in a few posts above yours.

I can see why he would think that Bitcoin doesn't have any intrinsic value, it's different from stocks and other financial products, so it's not really surprising that he wouldn't endorse it.

People change their minds though, perhaps he'll come around after a few years, when BTC's at 10k.

He said he didn't before, and I've no reason not to believe him, it's true it turned out great to anyone who invested and held even those buying at the former peak of around $3,000, BUT regardless of how good Warren Buffet is as an investor, He couldn't be investing in ALL profitable projects and investments in the world.

I think that millionaires like Lord Warren Buffet dont invest into this coins. His investor life's is too much different about what bitcoin offers. He might have bigger returns that what bitcoin has.
Warren buffet was the first person to make a profit of 42% yearly in US Dollars, and i dont think he would waste his time into this..

Indeed true, because warren buffet doesn't have any knowledge about our new technology. Even He mentioned before that bitcoin has no intrinsic value, it is because He doesn't know the deepest edge of bitcoin has. I think if bitcoin will reach 10,000$ He maybe change or revoke what He said about in bitcoin if the happen, lets see on that time.

Who knows? The rate of return is so high。

Rich people have resources we usually don't have. They can easily get into something or invest on anything and the legalities are not in their personal name but on holdings they have. There are those who are avoiding the media so they bought Bitcoin secretly. There is a big possibility that Warren is already into Bitcoin and other coins in the market.
Yeah, preservation of principal is key--not losing money--for the super wealthy.   WB doesn't invest in anything he can't analyze, so no, I don't think he's bought bitcoin and I don't think he ever will.   Plus he tends to put a lot of money into his investments,  and he'd end up cornering the market if he bought any.  Plus Berkshire Hathaway shareholders would go apeshit.
