Well, bitcoin would be the best coin in the future because it is the most established coin. But if you mean ALT coin, there were coins you can trust like etherium, LiteCoin and waves. In my case, I see potential of the coin for the future is its purpose and reason why it is created. Coins must have purpose uniquely different from other coins because this we can determine what track it is going.
Another thing I consider is its people who are engage with it. There were people you can look at at this campaign, are they credible or well known. In the future many coin will crash and only those who have really a vision and mission would remain.

I think ethereum is going to have a big future ahead of us. It may never pass bitcoin but it will still be a good one

It seems to me that NEO has a great potential now. He has a large capitalization and a great future awaits. Now a good price to buy.
Another thing worth watching is Waves and XLM.

My personal opinion would be, Invest in few coins such as Lisk, WTC, NEO, XLM, ETH, all these coin has great future, and actually top coins to invest right now. It might bring your huge profit in upcoming months. But do research before invest.

I still have a good faith in Ethereum even its price is falling these past few days. But I still believe that it is good to hold. Given the fact that most of the tokens are based on Ethereum platform.
