It was supposed to be Oct 2nd but we received an official statement that it has been delayed. The reason is to beef up security in the web site. Actually, here's the link..

According to previous instructions passport is enough. But, I wonder if things will get more complicated. In the release sent out today (see link above), they said there are updated terms and conditions. We'll need to wait and see. Let me ask on Telegram and see if they can give any extra insight

I cannot understand the white paper well enough right now to answer comfortably. But long story short TL;DR:

I cant see a staking benefit but I may be wrong.

What I do see is positioning/aligning oneself within a Node to be an issuer of ICX. And thereby being rewarded with ICX. Kind of sounds like staking, more details to come in time.

From what i understood about the staking, it will be the same system Neo uses. The question is, will the reward be ICX or another token like Gas for Neo?

ICON update regarding KYC:

With the recent tightening of blockchain regulations, ICON is preparing additional legal policies. In order to properly protect ICON contributors, the ICON KYC process will be delayed by a few weeks.
In particular, the ICON team is preparing a “Privacy Policy” and “updated Terms and Conditions” for contributors to safely submit their KYC information.
The KYC process will NOT start on the originally scheduled date Oct 2, 2017. The updated KYC schedule will be posted on the ICON blog and sent via newsletter.
As KYC deals with various personal data, the ICON website is being upgraded to include additional security measures. Therefore the website login is temporarily disabled. Thank you for your patience.

2. Koreans participating in Korean-based ICO's. They can participate in foreign ICO's which ICON was.

I would be interested to hear if ICON is somehow affected by those regulatory changes. I participated myself and I think it's a very promising project. I hope that it applies only to all ICOs that took part AFTER this announcement. Also I am curious if they have to refund the participation of Koreans of if it is still fine. Anyways I hope this project will not be limited/restricted because of this announcement.

I do not understand some things. we have invested first and then we will ask for documents from us. It seems a bit unreasonable. the accounts of unapproved accounts will be sent back or what ? everyday new things coming about ico's for make them hard.

Sooooo obviously nobody knows whats goin on with this ico ban.

However, im starting to think icon might be screwed. If korean citisens cant invest in icos this entire ico will fall flat on its face. I hope that icon has some sort of backing from goverment where they are somwhow immune but i really dont know here. Anybody any ideas if we are screwed here? Really had high hopes for icon. But once again fucking goverments getting in the way because some people invested in titty and pot coin icos....hate this baby/hand holding culture measing up good business
