Just read a little bit about ripple currency
it is not really a "currency"!
and its working mechanism seems to be a little different than bitcoin. Seems like an interesting concept. However, the company will hold 50% of its 100 billion ripplies.
there are lots of interesting "mechanisms" out there but simply being different doesn't make the better investments.
Does it mean that the currency will if not appreciate as much as bitcoin, there are still chances that it might appreciate in the coming months and years?
there is no way in a million years that ripple appreciates as much as bitcoin! it is a very simple concept called
supply and demand it is a 21 million bitcoins versus 100,000 million (100 billion) ripple supply.
at the same time it is a growing demand for bitcoin versus 0 demand for ripple
If so, is it worthwhile to invest in it for longer term?
not at all.
even if we ignore the huge supply, this coin is currently in a huge bubble and it has been falling slowly down back to 900 satoshi range.
