I thought there was a whitepaper written by Vitalik Buterin. Every link I had bookmarked is now broken, such as the following:

https://www.ethereum.org/pdfs/EthereumWhitePaper.pdf
http://vitalik.ca/ethereum/ethereum.html

I found this one, but I don't know if it's the official one written by Vitalik Buterin since it's a wiki in github. Link: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/White-Paper

I also found this yellow paper by Dr. Gavin Wood, but who is that? How is he related to Ethereum at all? http://gavwood.com/paper.pdf

Anyone know where is the official white paper for Ethereum?

Seems like most links to Vitalik's publication have disappeared indeed

Found copies of the December 2013 Ethereum Whitepaper, see here:

* http://web.archive.org/web/20131228111141/http://vbuterin.com/ethereum.html

* https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/blob/master/drafts/%5Benglish%5D-old-ethereum-whitepaper.md

* https://bitbucket.org/tmagik/catoshi/wiki/ethereum
"archived from http://www.ethereum.org/ethereum.html, Jan 11, 2014
copied under a belief that code archaeologists from future generations may need this history"

Check the Ethereum official website. There is doc called “Ethereum Homestead Documentation”. It is the result of ongoing collaborative work of the Ethereum Community volunteers. I hope you will find it useful!

If you are not able to understand ethereum technically, look at the thread opened by vitalik ''welcome to the new beginning'' and also the comments. It can be more useful for you

Yeah this doc is the most useful one for him "Ethereum Homestead Documentation"
Here is the link: http://www.ethdocs.org/en/latest/
If you are able to read it from the begining till end you will understand the whole things about ethereum.

I found the Vitalik Buterin white paper in pdf format http://www.the-[Suspicious link removed]/docs/Ethereum_white_paper-a_next_generation_smart_contract_and_decentralized_application_platform-vitalik-buterin.pdf

Edit: Hmm...the system automatically removed my link.  Just google “Ethereum white paper pdf” for link.
