Hi,

I transferred my generated bitcoins from slush mining pool but did not get that updated on my wallet.

I checked online here:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/15pY48bAkfynsHucit1cKnEWMtoHdMZZgL

and it shows that the transfer has been done.

How and when will this be updated on the wallet on my computer?

I think there is a firewall at this location. Is there any way for me to use this wallet at home and get it updated?

Thanks.
Whoever mines the block which ends up containing your transaction will get its fee.

I don't know about the ports used by the bitcoin client but it should work if you can download the blockchain and see a number next to "connections".

You also have to wait a bit for the transaction to show and maybe double check your receiving address.

And yes you can use your wallet where ever you want. Just take it with you.
BUT be safe while you copy around your walled.dat file. Do not leave it lying around and do not lose it on the way Smiley

PS: Read this article about working with your wallet (security etc.):
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Securing_your_wallet

There you can also learn where to locate your wallet:
Quote
The data directory is the location where Bitcoin's data files are stored, including the wallet data file.

Windows

Go to Start -> Run (or press WinKey+R) and run this:

explorer %APPDATA%\BitCoin

BitCoin's data folder will open. For most users, this is the following locations:

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application data\BitCoin (XP)

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\BitCoin (Vista and 7)

"AppData" and "Application data" are hidden by default.

The number on your screenshot where it says blocks seems not right.
Is it slowly increasing?

If it is increasing means you've to wait longer with the client open since it has not downloaded the whole blockchain.
Your transaction is containend in a block like 132000+, i would guess. (if i understand bitcoin a bit ^^).
So your client simply does not has the information about this transaction yet.

If not my, best guess would be a connection issue with the bitcoin network. Since my client is at 132619.

And you can also check the blockcount at:

http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/

(just at the top under the orange "bitcoin network")

See how the page in blockexplorer says that the transaction was in block 132598? The bitcoins will show up in your client once it downloads that block. You can see what block # has been downloaded on at the bottom right. Once this is higher than 132598, you'll see the transaction in your client. 6 blocks later, the transaction will be confirmed, and you can spend the Bitcoins.
