Hi,

I am reasonably tech savvy and have done a lot of research but struggling to figure this one out.

I had ~1.4 BTC in an address: 39hEj7iCd4fkXRKkcLjrnE62jwq9cpNbut

The BTC was loaded into the address BEFORE the fork: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/58d0dcd35111266141f0e1d972108fc315b3927818bd46b62704a2fd411de743 (block 478440)

It was emptied AFTER the fork: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/f4c9e79b8c72bc155a27e48542811973d5bf352b46fdccff5fa43ba4fb571fa7 (block 478973)

I have exported the private key from Electrum and tried to import into a number of different BCC wallets, tried Bitcoin ABC and Coinomi and both just say the private key is not recognised.

I still have access to the wallet that the address was on and double checked private key. Still no joy.

BitcoinCash explorer shows the address still is full in BCC: https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin%20cash/address/39hEj7iCd4fkXRKkcLjrnE62jwq9cpNbut

Without giving the key away its 52 chars.

Please help, i am running out of ideas. Anything to try.

You do have your 1.4BCH in that address.
It's here: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/address/39hEj7iCd4fkXRKkcLjrnE62jwq9cpNbut

It's possibly an issue with the fact it is a segwit address (one that begins with a 3).
Just to clarify, what letter does your private key start with? It should be either a L, a K or a 5.

Based on what you said, it'll either be a K or an L?

Can you download electron cash and try it on that?

Search for the member Fyookball on here as he is the dev and download it from his signature link.
http://www.electroncash.org/ or use this link.

There's also a tool on BTC.com that might be able to help you (though I don't have the link for that), but they are owned by bitmain so should be fairly safe to use.
