Yacoin Needs a Linux distro.

how dificult is creating a dedicated Yacoin mining Linux distro? Just out of curiousity. Id be willing to test it out.

How would you find this useful, over just scripting the launch of either the miner or the client at startup with already existing distros?  I'm not sure I see the utility but maybe I'm missing the use case.

If you want something that runs a miner on some piece of hardware *and nothing else*, you don't need a "linux distro". Take a linux kernel (from any of the popular distros), then create a ramdisk for initializing network hardware and starting the miner.

Taking stuff from an existing distro means that you don't have to maintain all the stuff yourself, only your specific mining ramdisk.

Depending on how versatile you want this to be, it won't be very difficult for someone with good linux system administration background.
