QTUM is like a sleeping dragon?

The reason I think QTUM is about to take off and will return at least 5x within two months but in the longer term will prove to be rewarding looking to 2018 (a few of the reasons)

 1.  Interview of QTUM team on CCTV in China, will create awareness (PBOC backed)

 2. Will have a WeChat or QQ integration, WeChat's mini-programs will allow users to transact using QTUM and also avail its service by paying through QTUM

3. Number of DApps built on QTUM greater than number of DApps built on NEO

4. Rumoured they have two 100 billion remninbi investor backing

5. Asian Exchange listing

6 - they are planning to launch QEA (QTUM Enterprise Alliance). Now there is speculation they are in talks with Alibaba and Tencent as the first allies but that has not been confirmed so at this stage please just treat it as pure rumour only. Don't factor that into any price considerations and I hesitate to even mention it.

But do your own research. I hold NEO and Qtum and OMG.

Well, at the moment i am just holding a few altcoins that i trust them so much, and i have an important amount of money invested on them.
10% of my portfolio is on bitcoin.
20% is on ethereum
30% monero
20% waves
20% litecoin
I think that those are the safest coins that are here on the altcoin market at the moment, a portfolio like this is giving me a good return, in the last week i earned more than 8% profit from that.

You have a good portfolio but I think your holding of bitcoin are a little bit on the low side so try to increase that in the next months, it is true that bitcoin cannot move as fast as a coin with a lesser market cap but it is a safer investment and you need to take that into consideration as well.

If the world doesn't end, coins worth holding for 5+ years would be...

Bitcoin (you should have 50-70% in BTC)
Litecoin
Ethereum
NEO
Civic
Stratis
Monero
IOTA
Decred
WAVES
Komodo

For the people who mentioned Monero, I suggest that you take a look at Aeon. Its lead developer is smooth, who is also a lead developer of Monero,  in case you did not know.

There is also an Aeon code rebase to be released soon that will make it as good as Monero code. Their code might almost be the same but their roadmaps are different. Aeon's goal is to become light enough to run on mobile devices.

currently multiple of your "HODL" coins are performing terribly and it has been like this for at least 4 months for each of them. and looking at each of their charts you can clearly see these coins like XRP have the same pattern of getting pumped and staying up 1 months and then slowly creeping down towards their bottom and lower than that.

i am sorry to say this but you have bought a big ice cube and now you are watching it melt, shrinking each day.
Yes, in my opinion BTC and XVG the only coin you can HODL but others are simply expressing a non performing well on trades lately. They are draining and melting your investments to other altcoins.

Keep for the long term, I would say:

- Zcoin (crazy potential)
- Zencash
- Litecoin
- Binance
- OmiseGo
- Tenx
- Stratis
- Neo
- Byteball

If hold for 4~5 years then I suggest most of your money (about 60%) for holding Bitcoin and others (the rest 40%) holding ETC,Waves,LBC,NEO and XMR, and I also recommend to hold DeepOnion for a short term of about at least 6 months, this coin seems like have great potential.

Only coins I hold for long term are Bitcoin and Ethereum. I do not want to chase coins which will make x100. It is too difficult to find and be patient in the long term.
I also hold Waves for the mid term for taking profit and selll.

My most loved long haul speculation is waves and Ethereum Monero NEO Stratis presently. These are going to take us to future. These coins have an extraordinary task and are upheld by great groups who know how to fill the requests of the speculators.

My biggest hopes go into Ether and Storj at the moment

They are all about decentralization and enabling big firm cut their expenses, and that's what everyone wants.
Less expenses for them means more money for us - simple as that

Next to IOTA, ETH, BTC i will hold EOS for at least one year (also because of german tax policies). Many ppl think its a promising project and innovative, others declare it as scam. I actually cant decide yet, but if it will become a serious threat for ETH then the prise will rise next year..

Honestly, if you know nohting about crypto if want to invest with low risk, just take the top 10 (whitout Ripple) and invest on them for long time.

Yep, probably the better answer for a beginner. Out of top 10-20, the risk is higher, and the only answer is research, research, research and more research on top of that. Takes time, but worth it.

There is actually an experiment going on, on Reddit, where this guy has bought the 31 top cryptos and is holding them for a year, to see whether this brings a profit or loss. You can read more about it in the following thread:

If you really want to stay safe and still make very huge profits, I'll suggest waves. Don't miss out on it.  Lisk will soon moon, but I don't know if it's good for long term investment.

As I have recently just joined the world of Cryptos around 1st August but I am doing only investment based on long term HODL currently my portfolio consist of NEO, OMG, XRP, SIA, XVG & ADEX

Would like good advise on any other cryptos with reason which I should be holding for a long term prospect of 4 to 5 years time

Most of the coins you are listing are also my coins of choice. I am into Verge, Adex, Siacoin, and Ripple. I traded OmiseGo for a while but I already sold them last high time. NEO is something I am still observing for now. I think it is still very expensive for now, at least as far as my own personal assessment is concerned.

Your choices are good but try to add to your portfolio some waves, mco and xmr as these coins are really promising.
Just hold it for mid or long term depends on the movement in the market so watch carefully.
Like I missed to sell my mco last week as it goes high so I'm just holding it again until next pump.
