Ok so I spotted a pretty cool coin that I would like to build a web based walled system for it like coinbase is for bitcoin.

Now I would like to know how to even start that, a little bit of a guide?

What type of coin is it and are you a dev? Blockchain wallets are pretty new and not just something you can find on a youtube tutorial.
If it is based on the ETH, you need to code with solidity and can find guides on ethereum.org.

Altcoin is almost not much members are used . Bitcoin only sufficient but somewhere it's helpful. Saperate altcoin wallet is helpful to pay some places. In that time no need to convert the another form of cryptocurrency. In that's way it's useful.

We recommend that you use the ETH platform only, you do not have to bother using an offline wallet

For ethereum based ERC20 ICO tokens, you can create a new secure wallet via myetherwallet web site. Try to keep json file and your private key and never share these with other people. That's all.

For different altcoins, some of them has specific wallets, some of them not. For example XEM has a good wallet system.

search on google, 'web wallet github' you can use the source code of a coin of your choosing to copy. Look at this site for learning to build a wallet https://bitcoinj.github.io/

signup for an exchange like poloniex or bittrex. but be cautious they own the private key and you could be at risk.

why take risk if you could have online wallets for major currency having the private key, like NXT NEM ETH etc
