We want to update all of you with what has happened since launch:

2013-may-14 We announced WorldCoin.
2013-may-16 We launched at 01:40hs GMT. We served more than 96000 downloads since then.
First pools started to pop up.
2013-may-17 We hit 1Gh/s network hash power
2013-may-18 First gambling site: wdc.coinluck.net
                   First merchant accepting WorldCoin: igotspots.com/Worldcoin.html
We made our first report: http://worldcoin.in/report-2013-may-19/
2013-may-19 We hit 1.5Gh/s network hash power
You can buy Silver with WorldCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=209808.0
                   Cryptsy exchange added WorldCoin: https://www.cryptsy.com/
2013-may-20 WorldCoin is on three exchanges: mcxNOW, Crypsy and Bter!
WorldCoin is listed on http://www.coinchoose.com/ as the most profitable coin.
We hit 3.5Gh/s network hash power.
2013-may-21 Today:

We first want to thank you of all the support:

We had a small fork on one pool caused by pools concentrated hashing powers, this was resolved. We ask people and pool operators to be careful with too much hash power and spread it out.  We have had a total of 96000 client downloads (Windows) and our hashrate hit 4GH/sec and is now steady at about 1.5-2.5GH/sec.

We are monitoring the coin very closely and if there are any issues in the future we won't hesitate to fix them, whether through simple fixes or through complete client updates if need be. We will support this coin indefinitely to prepare it for mass adoption.

In mentioning the above we have started a Developer Thread for additional projects we currently need and for any new projects developers choose to create.

We will be asking developers to help create the following things:
- Linux Client
- Android Wallet

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

This is a prime example of what a developer should be. It's refreshing to see a developer actually stick around and support the coin and future projects. You guys have done an outstanding job and the success of the coin speaks for itself.

Good. THis shows it was not "run and hide"

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

I don't know.. but I'm very happy with WDC being on mcxnow.com already so I don't really care if btc-e adds it Smiley

Yes, was really interested in seeing how that would work its way out.
Alternatively, it's funny how when all the miners drove CNC difficulty up, then abandoned it, people were then saying they're waiting several hours with zero confirmations.

We want to update all of you with what has happened since launch:

Would you please publicly address the statements that the transaction speed of WDC has compromised the blockchain. It's fueling the WDC detractors and causing doubt of future acceptance. Thanks.

Transaction speed does not compromise the chain, it just makes it grow VERY fast. The fact that a single pool right now has 60% of the hash rate however is a disaster that can split the fork and kill the coin.

I see, so the transaction speed of WDC intensifies this effect more so than other coins? Or is this an inherent problem with all coins...

All that needs to happen is for people not to all mine in a single pool. WDC needs to issue guidance on what the absolute upper limit on the hash rate of individual pools should be. I would guess it's lower than the usual <50% figure given for other coins... 30% perhaps?

The price on a small exchange, especially this early, is just noise.
The chatbox on mcxnow is just full of MinCoin supporters who constantly try to slander every coin on their exchange except their own.
Worldcoin has so much more going for it that most others. Not selling/not concerned. Most people trade with their emotions, and they typically lose.
