Is there a limit on password length for wallets? Mine doesn't work - 128 charact

I have a 128 character alphanumeric password that I copy and pasted into the bitcoin and litecoin encrypt password feature. I then tried to send money to test it and it says that the password is incorrect.

Is a 128 character password too large? Any chance of an error instead of going into this situation?

I have old wallet backups by I believe there is a complication of using those when creating an encrypted wallet.
