One thing that I don't understand, does the Ledger company sell the Nano S in batch so they update their hardware with the new coins.

Or they release a new update for the hardware like a firmware where the users should manually update the Nano S in order to get working with the new coins that have been added?

And seems that bitcoin hardware wallets are moving fast into altcoins and this is perfect!

I believe it is community development. I am more into Trezor and you first need to create firmware, pair it with trezor wallet, maybe with other wallets aswell and than you can commit. And it will take time to pass test, all the process must re-iterate. So I see it available maybe at the beginning of 2018, for Ledger.

sorry for those who abandoned the boat., you would have to buy back at a higher price. the ICO ban drama will soon be over and they will publish a law soon about ICOs being regulated to which only the legit ones will be approved. $30 still is pretty low though. buying more NEO will be worth still

Waiting for NEO's price to reach $30. I am getting impatient as its price is still down to $20's rate. I've already bought additional coins yesterday so hope the price pumps to a better rate this month.

There's firmware updates like the one needed for BCH support.
You didn't need to buy a new Nano S once they added BCH, you simply made sure you're on the right firmware version and installed the BCH app.
Same goes for newly added altcoins, since the chips are the exactly same in every batch.

It's all pretty straight-forward once you have a Nano S in hand and get to try it yourself.
