Hello,

Yesterday I switched from a 3 card setup to a 4 card setup since my risers arrived. I documented my build and will post it with pictures and all...

Thing is after i was done, most of my cards started acting weird.. I have for ex. 3x6970 from ASUS (DirectCUII) which worked fine, but now i get SICK/DEAD on 1 card. Could this be the result of:

1. Drivers? Do you usually reinstall the drivers/maybe the whole OS when mixing cards up in a new setup?
2. PSU? Mine are 1000W PSU's Silver/Gold certified.
3. Risers? I use 3 16x risers and 1 x1 Riser. From what i've read there shouldn't be any power issue with risers that are not powered.

Cheers

You might be pushing it with that PSU. Each 6970 uses around 250W, and if you have four of them, they will be pulling close to 1000W on their own, then plus any overclocking you are doing . . .

Do you have a kill-a-watt that you can measure at draw?

3x 6970 ASUS DirectCU II's pull 800 Watts... so 1000w is a bit on the low side...
Interestingly after 5 hours of troubleshooting...i came to the conclusion that 3xASUS directCU II will not under any circumstance work together... one always dies with ATI Driver Error.. .Tested each individually... they all work, just not together... it's a strange world i tell you.
