Hi guys,

I'm new to the world of Cryptocurrency, and I'm wondering which platform is the best for buying and why? I'm living in Canada. I was thinking of Coinbase but I read a lot of bad comments on it and stories of lost money.

Cheers

how about using Kraken ?
so far i never heard something bad happened in there, only some minor problem like can not log in,lagging and something like that.
plus their service is good other than other exchanger(for example poloniex).
many people lose their coin in Coinbase because they're hacked,it's pure their own mistakes.
it's a reputable exchanger so far, even though sometimes they made an unusual statements regarding some problem,
that's their own opinion about those problem and how they reacted.

it's up to you

Use Poloniex. He is in the US (his office), you as a Canadian citizen will not have any problems with the raising of your account.

I always recommend people to use localbitcoins. It will connect you to traders in your country and area. It works very well I've used it for I've already year and never had a single issue. They release coins quickly when buying and pay you quickly when selling to fiat. They use escrow. They also usually give good trades. On my couch try at least. It depends when you go online. I simply come back later if I don't like the current rates. There many traders so they all completing for the lowest rates.

Thank you everybody. I will definitely take a look each of them.

What about the transaction fees? Any preferences?

I heard that some platforms require user to buy bitcoins in order to buy other currencies.
