Trading Chart Analyzer - What features would you want?

I am a programmer with 20+ years experience. I have just this year become interested in trading alt coins. After analyzing many trading charts it was only natural for me to want to put this into a program that does the work for me. So I've been working on that for a few weeks. I am not ready to have anyone test it and am not making any claims. My main goal is to have my software detect and then notify me when certain things happen like breaking through a resistance and ultimately telling me the best time to buy just like I would after analyzing the charts. I did this mainly for myself, but am sure you would love to try it out too. So before I let you try it out, I would like to know what features would you want in such a system? It currently works with any coin traded on bittrex and poloniex. This will NOT predict the future, but will safe me (and maybe you) time analyzing the past and know what's going on right now.

I'd really like to know when certain orders are being moved. For example, when the price is going up, sell orders get canceled and new buy orders are added. I've always wanted to know the net change in order volume within a certain range and which way it points (More buy orders being added, more sell orders being added). The market volume chart with buy vs. sell kind of does this but I want to see the change in time, which current markets currently don't do.

i think that coinigy's interface is pretty good.  you might sign up and use them to get some inspiration.

some useful features: EMA, SMA, MACD, RSI, bolingerbands, ichimoku clouds... and that's just to start

That's a f****ng cool idea man.

I would like if you could link your account at an exchange so that it provided charts based in your portfolio in real-time, and also so that I wouldn't have to manually input what it was I bought or sold.

Nice idea and good efforts for the community. I would like if the chart can notify me when certain price targets set by me have been reached. It will be good if the chart can notify me when there is a sudden price increase and decrease by certain BTC amount. For example, if a coin price suddenly increase from 0.10000 to 0.11000 within 1 to 2 mins.

So you want to create software which analyzes charts solely, right? Or will it be an advances trading platform? If you are speaking of the first one then you have to take a look at coinmarketcap first. Perhaps you've already heard of this website. They have the charts for most of coins + trading volume, amount of coins and change in marketcap in 24 hours. It will be hard to beat them, so maybe it's better to make a deal with them and get their system implemented into your program with some additional features like notifications of users when a coin drops or grows 20% in 24h, for instance?

I would love to have a trailing stop/loss or notification.
For example – if I buy  CoinA at $4.50 and then set a stop/loss that is 10% below ie $4.05. The key is that you set a percentage as a stop/loss and not a value.

If CoinA goes up the Stop/Loss is still 10% below the current value ie the stop/loss follows the uptrend.
When CoinA goes down the stop/loss gets triggered if the value goes below the ‘turning point’

Some useful features would be better quality displays of the volume and price movement over time. To be able to view the volume is different ways, similar to ways audio is displayed in various editing programs. Also, some sort of statistical neural net that anylises the fractals in the chart and makes predictions for you.
