  • Create a forum to help promote a new technology
  • New technology allows journalists to bypass economic censorship
  • Attract thousands of Libertarians disgusted by authoritarian governments
  • Unjustly incarcerate every noob, because of other crimes (spamming) committed by other people, leading to the censorship of every new voice to this community

Not that I'm a new voice, I'm just stuck in newbie hell on a new account.

same story here, at first i was wondering why i couldn't post anything, then i read that i had to browse for 4 hours.
When the 4 hours where full i still couldn't post. More searching led to more requirements to be "upgraded"

sigh ...

Welcome to the newbie prison. You only need to serve 4 hours non stop browsing and 5 posts.

You must be new to the internet and/or boards, otherwise you'd understand that the purpose of the newbie restriction isn't to censor but to offer some protection against misinformation campaigns, spammers, ill-intentioned passer-biers and people of similar inclination.  5 Posts and 4 hours of usage, not really a big deal.  Requires a modicum of effort and keeps the community cleaner.

Hang in there.

When you have gone through you get rewarded with the ability to point and laugh at everyone still in Newbie Prison.

Worth it!

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

Not every restriction is censorship.

It's hardly hell. You can still read everything. You got something so important to say that can't wait a few hours?

I am in the noob section as well...rightly so I must admit!  Cry I am just mainly reading and learning more as I go.  Lots of things to try on my miner rig for when I get to the house though!

No one is stopping you from posting important ideas in the newbie section. This isn't irony, it is just whining.

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.

I agree with Azure. Technically, you have the largest, most engaged part of the population here. Not like I have anything else to do over those four hours.

Indeed very annoying... Doesn't it just turn this Newbie forum into a bunch of "first" posts? There seem to be several valid discussions in here that might otherwise be better off in a more topical forum. I don't get it.

first!

Second first!

Ehh, I don't think the probation period is all that bad. It burns up 10 posts / 4 hours, and then you move on with your life.  Many many worse things in the world.
