Why do you even gamble?

I just gamble for fun and nothing else, when i have spare money that i don't mind loosing at all then I start to gamble with it and sometimes I even make quiet a few dollars with it.

I also play just for fun when there is free money that I can afford to lose in case of a loss. I will take it to this simply as an entertainment and do not suffer for lack of opportunity to play.

Those people who can stop to gamble after they loose very big money and even a car or home, they are just sick, it is addiction and it's totally special kind of gambrlers. I'm not one of them. I play just for fun, cause of I have a lot of free time generally. Every moment when I earn good money like 50$ minimum to me it means that the game is over for today and when I loose one buy one I also stop, counting that today I just have no luck.

as time goes by an addiction could grow up turn to something worse like a mental illness , you don't know why it's really so attractive and can't stop repeating the same bad thing to gamble again and again. that time you should really consider seriously to looking for a professional help to get out of that nightmare. just gamble by rights , don't take it as a serious way to make money. it's a big mistake.

It's really fun for a new person to gamble as he is not used to gambling and when he wins he feels really happy because something like this has never happened in the past with him hhe enjoys it when he gambles for the first time. Second people gamble because they wanna recover their loses and those are the addicted ones

I agree with you but still here in opinion all things depends upon the circumstances whether they are making or loosing/profit anytime with gambling because this is the game of making money where anyone can loose his money and also can make profit .
So if you are making earnings then you need to make gambling , since here we need to give limit to the gambling because gambling is game that should be played by the gamblers in limit .
If you can give limit to your work of gambling then i Don't think that you needed to take tension about the addiction of your gambling .
Here i am.not giving you any advice but this is that thing that i followed to make myself away from gambling and to give limit .

Giving limit is always important no matter how much profit you made or loss setting up limits for ourselves is always important not doing so will end us in over gambling and due the gambling way it makes us get addicted to it so finally we lose our money even when we had made profit earlier

This post is not intended to criticize gamblers, i am just curious what drives a gambler to really gamble even when the odds are against him or even reach the point where he'd rather lose everything he has than to stop doing his gambling addiction. I said the following because i have seen friends and some relatives on my mother's side literally lose everything they have like family, wealth etc. and only a few managed to stand up again. And some of that few still gamble to this day. And an uncle was found dead from a gunshot wound, whoever did it was unknown. But rumors say that it is one of all the guys he owed large money and never payed. While a friend(not close, just a neighbor) died from suicide because his wife left him along with his 14y.o daughter and 3y.o son. Now, I ask this because i dont get it. I just don't. I mean is it even worth it? If you ask me, i don't know. That is why i am asking. And the reason why i did it here is because we all know i can't ask a gambler with this kind of questions face to face because doing that would mean mean that I wanna start a fight. I mean that might how a gambler reacts to this kind of question. Please share your thoughts on this.

In my own point of view, i gamble because i want to earn money while i am being entertained in the games that i played or that i gamble. I also gamble if i am bored at home because gambling is also a entertainment that gibes you joy when you win. And i gamble to relieved all of my stress at work.

These strategies do not work in gambling. If you start gambling to only make profit and without taking note that in gambling there is a higher chance to lose money rather than win money , you risk to become addicted even if you play 2 times a month or want to profit a little, especially this second option. Why ? Because usually people who want to make small profit play really low odds and bet a relatively high amount in order to make this small profit and have high hopes of achieving it. Usually these odds are wins but one or two losses in a row and then you are after these losses trying to recover your investment and in an instant you have become addicted without even you being conscious of such thing.

There are more than several other ways to relax and make yourself feel comfortable, but gambling isn't the best one.  This good feeling might make you addicted to gambling, which might end up extremely badly!

Right it is very important to sell at higher prices to gain more profits. Every trader knows that and I have also accustomed that but unlike you I sell in blocks because based from my own experiences selling little by little had only made me loss huge profit

It's just sad that there are many gambling addicts who have destroyed their lives because they cannot stop their addiction. Though there are others who have strong will power to stop but then others just cannot get over it just what OP stated. As what I can observe, some people just want to forget their problems for a while and they see gambling as a way to let their mind off it and enjoy the game and it's much more exciting because there is a chance they will win and maybe their problem is money related so it's one way to solve their problem.

As for my point of view, I gamble because I wanted to have more money instantly but I know my limit and stop when I need to. I did experience it before when I have losing streaks and become so emotional and I just cannot shake off the feeling and wanted to get back my losses so I would be in debt to someone just to gamble and since I am emotional, most likely the outcome would be additional losses. It had gotten worse and I did reflect and realize my mistake so I decided to just look for other ways to earn. I gamble from time to time but only for fun now and maybe a little profit if I am lucky.

That's possible because not all gamblers are responsible gamblers, there are gambler who's aim is to make instant money making their vulnerable to addiction. When you are always thinking of gambling despite the fact that you are not getting result, you force yourself to gambling having a wrong belief, and because of that you are not focus on your strategy anymore as you are dictated by your greed to avenge your loses.

It seems that Gamble gives you the opportunity to earn big in no time actually so the people are driven by this greediness of earning big in no time. But actually we ended up loosing money. And that hurt our ego for not winning the money so we try to recover that if some how we recover our loosing we tend to earn big or if we lose again we try to recover again with more money .And thats how we get completely addicted in betting. I gamble because of two main reasons. First, I gamble because I want to gain money, because right now I am unemployed and in need of money. And I could not find a job. Although I know my limits, it's really hard to stop when you're down. You can't stand the fact that you lose money, and you want to play more to get the money back.

I think it has a lot to do with the uncertainty of the outcome of the gamble. There always is a chance you win it back, so you're chasing your loss.

Well, that is mostly what i see on all the posts i see here, that people find it hard to stop when they lose money so they keep on gambling to get their losses back and more. But after a gambler tries a lot of times and fails, why does he still chase after it even when has has lost too much already?

I really don't understand.. i would like to get deeper into this so i can help a friend who wants to stop gambling that always says that this will be my last gamble but then still does it minutes later or hours. i want to help him while he still hasn't lost too much.

Once the people get started into gambling, it will never stop so easily especially if they loss big amount or if they experience of winning in gambling. These two are the main reason I saw why most gamblers keep on playing even they'd always loss in the end most of the time.

i personally do gamble but with  always a small amount which i can afford to lose . and i only gamble on online dice sites . some of the things i would like to say which drive us to gamble is it becomes your daily routine if you loose you tend to come back to recover it and if you do recover then you start making profits and become greedy  and ultimately you loose again and then you try to recover it back again . so this thing keeps on going like addiction .

What if he is in loss then that time also the gambler will be feeling good and satisfied ? the answer is NO. What you said is wrong and their is no real theory on that. only if he wins then what ever you told is happening but if they are in loss then all opposite will happen. most of them gamble to recover their loss and in this process they lose more and then addiction starts.
