The Bitcoin Price Just Set a New All-Time High Above $4,700

The price of bitcoin is now trading at its highest level ever.

At press time, the average price of bitcoin across global exchanges was $4,703.21, a figure that was up roughly 4% from a previous high of $4,522.13 set on August 18.

The move comes as bitcoin prices edged up over the day's session, beginning an upward ascent around 12:20 UTC. Since that time, the price of bitcoin is up more than $100, rising from $4,342 at the time.

Overall, the price of bitcoin is up from a daily low of $4,400. On the year, bitcoin is now up 350% from roughly $1,000 on January 1.

Elsewhere, the price of ether, ethereum's blockchain token, was nearing all-time highs, reaching its highest total observed since mid-June.

I just woke up to this wonderful news. Really good to see bitcoin has broke the mental barrier, $4500. I still would like to know if this is the effect of Segwit activation or new inventors finally getting into the ecosystem. If this is Segwit then this could be the benefit after a week of it being used by the miners. Because I'm seeing a lot of individual saying that Segwit has failed and the fee is high as ever. And I have said that we should wait and give it a grace period for at least a month before saying that it didn't do as it was design. But for me, its really new faces trying to get into the market that really boost the price today. There is news that stocks market has seen the largest withdrawal ever since 2004, including precious metals. Bitcoin and Ethereum has rise dramatically in last few days, which coincide with the massive withdrawals. If this is the case, cryptocurrencies is the new alternatives or vehicles to put money for the investors.

Not to fast. We still have the looming November fork that could make an impact to the price. Although I'm still positive that the this event will not completely affect the price but we may experience some minor price correction. But whatever happens, the price could really peak at lower $5000 and as high as $10000.

The current price took a minor dip today, but boy it looks like its holding at $4500 which I initially thought wouldn't sustained. But let's see how it goes in the next coming weeks if we could really push to $5000 then next year at $10000.

Bitcoin hitting $10,000 within this year can just be another very optimistic projection...it may not really happen that fast due to the coming November fork as it can still send some chilling effect on the market though may not be as messy as what transpired before August 1.

We will see how Bitcoin can be moving from here on after breaking the psychological $4,500 barrier...it is possible it can be able to soon breached the $5,000 wall but after that there would be the needed corrections or retreats allowing more breathing space and squashing any chance for any bubble.

I am sure that this surge of value can also magnetized big fund pools to finally add Bitcoin into their baskets. Recently, there was a great exodus from gold to Bitcoin and also some billions invested in stocks shifted their attention to cryptocurrencies.

In November, bitcoin is again a very important event. And now many analysts say that the price can be adjusted because of this. We can not guess where the price will go. But we must hope that it will go up and reach very high altitudes. And 4700 dollars will seem to us a cheap price
