Lost seed and 2fa but still have wallet open on my MAC?

Hi,

Sorry if this has been covered already, I have read a few posts.

As the title suggests, I have for some stupid stupid reason, not printed out my Electrum seed and then have also lost the data on my phone including Google Auth, and I am pretty sure there is no way to get that back, no backups (android)

When I first got the wallet, I did export the private keys, I thought that this was the same as most other blockchains and that it would backup my wallet in case I lost other info.

So what the hell is the use of exporting private keys if they are actually not keys to anything?

I still have Electrum open on my macbook and can see my coins in the app, is there absolutly no way I can recover this account using the wallet file or some other way??

Please guys, shed some good luck on me haha.

I have only bad news for you! Your bitcoins are lost! The only hope you have right now is use a software like ease us recovery and just hope that your seed file is sitting there, if that doesn't works then try ease us on your phone maybe it will find the 2fa file. But the chances of recovering your bitcoins are very low. Any way Good luck!

whats the point of even having the option to export private keys?

A 2FA Electrum wallet is just a fancy MultiSig 2of3 wallet. The only way to get the coins out is by having the 2 of the 3 private keys required to be able to sign a transaction to move the coins...

1 set of private keys is owned/controlled by TrustedCoin, but they'll only sign it if you have the GAuth token... Which apparently you've lost.

The other 2 sets of private keys are generated from your seed... By default, it only stores 1 set of private keys in your wallet (and you send to TrustedCoin to use their set to countersign)

When you restore from seed, you get the option to "disable" 2FA which restores both sets of private keys into your wallet, so then you don't need to send to TrustedCoin.

The only way to recover a 2FA wallet is with the seed... So if you have no seed and/or no GAuth then your coins are effectively locked in.

If you have the wallet private keys saved then you can only transfer btc from those addresses only, you won't have access to your hole wallet, hope that clears out any misunderstandings.

Thekool1s: I dont get it haha. so if I deposited 1 BTC to address 00111111111 and I had the private key for that address, then I should be able to move those funds even without the seed or 2fa?
I have tried that with a key I have, but it does not let me?

Just bumping regarding the private keys.

I import a private key that is attached to the bitcoin address that has some coin in it

but when I import it into electrum, the private key has a different address attached to it, and has no funds in it.

Any ideas?

As I said... Each address in your 2FA wallet is actually created from a combination of 3 private keys... You need 2 of those 3 keys to spend.

TrustedCoin has 1. Your seed controls the other 2. The 2FA wallet only contains 1 unless you restore from seed and disable the 2FA functionality.

You either need your 2FA seed or the GAuth token for TrustedCoin... Unless you have one of those things, your coins are locked in that wallet.

there's more than one private key behind every address in a multisig wallet. there are 3 out of which you need any 2. if you had the seed you'd have no problem because that contains information for 2 private keys. as it is you don't have the seed. you have the wallet file which contains only one private key. the other one is held by the company that verifies the google auth code i.e. trusted coin. they won't sign your transactions until and unless you show knowledge of the google auth code. so you have neither the seed nor the google auth code. as a result your coins are gone. lost.

next time write down the seed.
