I'm not ashamed of being a gambler. Most people are to some extent. They may not be going to casinos or gambling online but when an opportunity comes they grab it without thinking twice. My family members know what I'm spending my money on and they usually don't approve (officially), but aren't trying to change me since I'm independent and not in debt.
I think you shouldn't try to hide it. Gambling is not a weakness as long as you do it in moderation, just like drinking.

Maybe if you grew with a family that hates gambling or criticizes gamblers, then you might have developed the constant feeling of being a shame to the family or something. That's how you are going to feel every time you gamble, and that's going to creep you up. There's nothing wrong to be ashamed of something and there's nothing wrong with not feeling ashamed too.

Yes, you feel yourself to be an independent gambler if you are actually not taking debt from anyone just for the sake to gamble more and to lose all you had.

The thing is that there is no shame in being a gambler even if your family has a notice about your activities. If you have earned the money without anyone’s help then probably it’s your own right to decide that where is it to be spent whether for the sake of some professional business or to have fun in the casinos.

I agree that you should be, from your wording, an "independent gambler." Since you do not rely on others for your gambling money, but that should have been the case for every gambler. I do also agree there is no shame being one especially if you do not wage all your money or anybody's money or money that should not be gambled, however I also believe that their is no point in sharing whatever you are doing on social media. I don't see that point, it just adds more drama to everybody especially to the poster.

People share it on social medias maybe because they want to promote their referral links, to show a nice strategy, to show someone earning big (or losing hard), any interesting fact about gambling... People around need to learn accepting the gambler as there isn't anything wrong with this... Gamblers are usually adults and know what they are doing, if people around want to create problems it will become even worse.

Yes I do agreed with this that most of the ambling related posts on the social apps are made just for the sake of sharing tips with others or having fun by telling people about your experiences that how did you manage to win.

But even if it is the reality behind all of the social media coverage regarding gambling, society gets harmed in a negative sense because there are people also who are against gambling at all and hence it leads to a serious unrest among different school of thoughts. Therefore in my opinion it must be avoided.

Normally I don't gamble a lot. Nowadays I totally stopped gambling.
I really don't want my family, friends or anyone who are related to me in real life to know that I sometimes did gambling.
If my family members knows that I'm gambling online then some bad impression may raise, and which I don't want at any cost.

But I have promoted gambling sites in twitter and fb account for refs.

I see, so it's related to your career. If that is so, you should be careful or you might put your job/career at risk. I understand on how you want to secure yourself from those people that has higher positions on your company. But if there's no need to post something on social media related to gambling then simply don't post it.

i think he can make new account for only posting/sharing gambling related topics and news in facebook so you don't have to worried with other person that might not agree with you or has higher positions than you. you can access your new account from another devices like another cell phones or laptop or else so your job is still safe and no one will know that you have 2 different account.

It will be much better to romote something that proven best, it's our namevat stake or our account at risk, if we promote some scam sites then it will add bad reputation to us, study what your going to promote, promote only legit casinos, as well as legit activities.

Why would I post those kind of topics on my facebook account? I can just read it without having to share it on my facebook account. But I am not afraid though because my family and friends know that I am  a gambler with self control so need to feel ashamed

Why would I post those kind of topics on my facebook account? I can just read it without having to share it on my facebook account. But I am not afraid though because my family and friends know that I am  a gambler with self control so need to feel ashamed

well not most of us have a same personality like yours and for sure that's the reason why they are taking advantage of bitcoin gambling, as they can hide their personalities, sharing it in our personal social media accounts will create rumors about our personalities so i'm not doing it personally.

I Think its not just because of the family perspective but because a lot and major people are thinking that gamblig or even davbli in it is a negative. And in this workd full of negativity and judgements you would not want to put a target on yourself

But if your family have some argues on it and your country legalistic the gambling, then better to quietly playing gambling. But i don't care about my friends and anyone but i do care about my family reaction, that's why i play gambling in a quietly.

If a person still depends on its parents that still grounded of every step he made, well that could be a problem and it is necessary to him to quitely do gambling everytime time he wanted to do it. But if your family already accustomed of your gambling activities,  then there's no need to be hide in fact you must just discipline yourself to let you won't get addicted on it.

Well for me, its more like afraid of people only showing up because i have a lot of money. People that don't usually mind me would likely show up beaming with wide smiles and becoming all to friendly and caring lol. I'd rather keep something like that private among my close friends and family since they're open to me gambling anyways

I actually stopped using Facebook a long time ago, simply because the space got invaded by tons of adds and companies, and it looks more like a marketplace than a social platform. I also have a lot of privacy concerns about that space and I think those that do share their lives there, normally overdo it, so Facebook doesn't suit my needs as a social platform.

If I was still using it, I would probably no share topics related to gambling though. Not because I was hiding anything from my family, but because I don't think the rest of the world has nothing to do with my gambling habits. If I regularly shared my habits there, people could end up having an idea on how much money I spent in gambling, and from there, could have an idea on how much money I make, etc. That information is private, and I would not share it on social platforms.

You do really have the right and theres nothing to be shy of since its your money after all even your family or relatives would oppose on gambling activity you cant do anything about it but well depending if you are really worrying about that thing then you can either hide it to other people or not. In my case it doesnt really matter if they do like gambling or not since i do have the freedom on what i do,then it doesnt really matter at all.

I'm not really scared to share gambling related stuff on Facebook, but it's just something that I don't do.
It gets kinda annoying for your friends if you would start posting gambling related stuff all day long, I know that I get annoyed at seeing the same stuff come up.

I'm also not really spending much time on Facebook and other social media anymore.

Me no. I dont post because aside from i dont know any gambling sites, i also dont know any gamble so just reasonable not to post and, another thing i dont have a plan of starting.

Well I played those free online games so I'm sure that all my friends are seeing my feed with those games. lol. But I don't care anymore because I already moved out of my current work and just concentrating on my own business now. So I must say that I'm already immune and safe from the prying eyes of supposedly managers and co workers.

I say before, I was afraid because it might complicate things on my end. But right now, nah, I'm OK with them seeing me posting my casino exploits. lol.

That's the problem, since there's still some conservative countries where people thinks that gambling is a mortal sin, we can't avoid those people and if you are part of that society then you are going to be condemn, me even I'm not from that society I still hide my activity as I don't want more people to
know what I'm doing especially those who are close with me.

I am not afraid that my siblings or my parents either, but what i am afraid of was my boyfriend he never want me to gamble because it is only a waste of money. I also afraid to share it in social medias because i will be an educator soon.

I usually post my winnings before in my social media accounts to gain some referrals but I just used a dummy account of course I dont want to publicize in my friends and relatives that Im a gambler lol.
