Can anyone tell me the easiest way to upload the private key from a paper wallet?  I tried Electrum but I did see the menu options I needed (per the youtube videos I watched).  Thank you!

Do you want to import your private key from the paper wallet so you can spend it?

With Electrum, you could:

a. Import your private key directly while creating a new wallet.
File -> New/Restore -> Standard wallet -> Use public or private keys -> Write your private key and continue.

b. Sweep your paper wallet coins to a new Electrum wallet.
Wallet -> Private keys -> Sweep -> Write your private key -> Click the Sweep button.

Or you could also use a mobile wallet like Mycelium to sweep your paper wallet. Here is a video on how to do that with Mycelium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUS6Nrff5qY

If you have a paper wallet which with bar code you can easily upload or import it using mycelium just can the bar code and it can read easily by mycelium and you can use our bitcoin . The other software  like the above said electrum but i think you need to scan your paper wallet and copy past your private keys or manually enter your private keys..
But my better suggest better to use mycelium and just scan the bar code in your paper wallet..

Thank you for the quick helpful responses!  I will give these a try.  I did find when I used electrum that the 'private key' choice was not available.  I thought maybe it was my computer operating system limiting the options I had in Electrum..   The youtube video I watched showed a prefix required when entering the private key as well.

Electrum prevents "importing" private keys when your wallet has a seed to prevent losses. because if you import your private key in that wallet and lose the wallet, you can use the seed to recover all the private keys EXCEPT the one you imported.

that is why Electrum forces you to create a new wallet without seed so the confusion never occurs.
