Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Even though I don't deal much with altcoins, still I have a way to check the best performing coins just to keep track of the market. There is a easy way to check that.

Visit coinmarketcap website. Then click on the "Change (24 h)" tab. It will sort the entire list of coins on the basis of price change in last 24 hours. Click it twice, it will sort the list as per the least moving coins. This way you can find the most precious coin's list as well as the least precious coin's list. Click on the market cap and the list will sorted as per the highest market cap list. Very similar to the filter function of excel.

Coinmarketcap is the official place to find places that are hosting the coins and you could see pretty much every exchange that the coin could be traded at. The people that work in Coinmarketcap make it really easy for people to navigate through there and see if a coin was getting any popularity when the price of Bitcoin is going up or down.
They also have percentage rates as well so you could check if the amount of Bitcoin that you invested made any money at all.
Bitcoin investments, are one of the things that could get you rich if you know how to read charts.

Are you into trading? If you are, you can easily see how big their growth or dip in value in percentage. If you are not, yes you can go to coinmarketcap.com. There you can easily look for the coin you wish to know whether performing well or not. They have a little line graph beside the coin so you will see whether the direction is upward or not. Or if you really want to understand the coin more then Google the coin itself.

Yes, agree with you all. coinmarket can really help to find the coins best performing. But in most cases this is already to "late", at least for pre investment.

What about coins, that are getting hot e.g. for a specific day. Like for example a coin that is highly discussed on twitter and through that, creates the market need.
So you would need a system, to know, before the market, what is "hot".

Is something like that available?
