Well what format is the private key in now? What letter does it start with? Do you remember encrypting it with a password?

Try this interesting website to check how long it would take to crack a password: https://howsecureismypassword.netI tried my phone number and it would take 25 milliseconds to crack it. 25 MILLIseconds. That's less than 3% of a second. Computing power is a fascinating thing. But when I added a single letter "P" at the end of the number, it would take a full day to crack it. The site is fun while also encouraging a security minded approach to keeping accounts safe. As for your private keys, if you secured them with a complex password and if you can't remember even parts of that password, it will not be easy to decrypt and access your wallet.

I found this tool but probably is not very user-friedly https://github.com/glv2/bruteforce-salted-opensslwell, it seems strange that if you are a "noob" you used openssl to encrypt files However, good look with this cracking

yes, i think you should pass to OpenSSL the entire file, but I never used OpenSSL, so I don't know the details EDIT: here there are some details about syntax: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/16056135/how-to-use-openssl-to-encrypt-decrypt-fileshowever, this method is useful only for trying some passwords "by hand", you will need a password-craker software to try brute-forcing the password

yes, that's more probable than my idea. But maybe they are the same thing? Blockchain that uses openssh to encrypt? However, hashcat it's probably the faster program, it says it supports "Blockchain, My Wallet" and "Blockchain, My Wallet v2": https://hashcat.net/hashcat/maybe this is the case of OP's wallet?
