I just found this,
https://www.reddit.com/r/islam/comments/2bcd46/to_muslim_cryptocurrency_enthusiasts/

>> "Just a little message to Muslim CryptoCurrency enthusiasts.
All Crypto's based on a Proof Of Stake Algorithm are Haram.
PeerCoin, Blackcoin and the likes.
I've realised there isn't much about Crypto's and Islam out there and Islamic scholars can't get their heads around Crypto's.
Reason why Proof of Stake Mining is Haram. Is due to the Fact that in Islamic Finance you can't make money from Money, with Proof of Stake you make money just from owning a large amount of whatever coin. Which is Islamically Haram.
Proof of Work Crypto's like Bitcoin are halal though.

what is your opinion, is it halal or haram? please tell me with explanation
