The major reason for the fall from 4800$ to 4000$ was due to China. China government has put a ban on cryptocurrency crowdfunding methods. As per them raising money via ICO of coins i illegal and asked the companies which have raised the money from ICO to refund the money to investors. As a result panic selling took place and many people in China started selling btc and then followed by people form other country. So actually it was a good time for people to start buying from the dip and hold on btc for some time to get good profits.

Several factors has really contributed to the price diving today and the rest of the month. First, the Chinese news banning ICO's was the beginning then followed by them announcing that they will ban local exchanges as well. The JP Morgan's CEO Jamie Dimon calling bitcoin as fraud was the catalyst for yesterday and today's dumping. But as others have said this is just a temporary setup for bitcoin market and you need to keep your nerves calm and do not panic. But instead you can buy in this price correction and hold it for long term. Because history tells us that bitcoin can rebound from such disaster and who knows, we may get to $5000 after everything has cool down.

I don't think there is nothing to understand and all because people be in the forum may already knew that bitcoin price is fluctuate always and it is up and down continuously. From this year starting onwards we see bitcoin price moves up and up again. Now correction happen, if you have enough fund means invest and buy bitcoins now to get the big profit.

Well not entirely the fault of that China ban because even years ago, there are times like theese where it would really go down to at least 500$ then going back high again after a week or too. There are too many influences of the price like they are just trying to pump again the price so that there will be another dump. In a perspective this is just normal for the stockmarket to at least balance equilibrium for the market.

If you have investment and you buy at 4000$ plus you being worried is just normal but prices will soon be increasing this coming weeks again. But if you have no bitcoin as of now, or planning to buy some. It is the right time as bitcoin and most altcoin price is much cheaper now. Bad Market is means Good Opportunity to others.

I agree China banning ICOs might be the cause I have also heard that the ban is temporary but that's just what I learnt from not so reliable source. There have been rumours that China banned cryptocurrency exchanges too but again that's a rumor only. In my opinion the recent dip is more due to all the fud than just normal correction. I do believe too that bitcoin prices will reach a new ATH soon..

Nah this is all part of the show of China and soon it will be over after they created their own exchange and now they're using this correction to buy at low and take profit as soon they remove the ban in ICO. Oh they're always so wise when it comes to money. So don't panic and don't give your money to these big whales. Hold until it touches again it's ATH.

nothing just panic panic and panic selling. the FUD is all over the place from banning icos to banning exchanges to calling bitcoin as scam. this is becoming a schedule blood bath these days .

Its started panic selling has just begun and will make  btc to go down below 3000$ .

But the same thing, after giving some license for ICO's and local exchanges it's about to see the rise of the market again. I'm still selling my cash for 5k+ a BTC because that is the true value. We shouldn't let media devalue our crypto. The people's exchange is alive and well. You just have to know your way around the market.
