The days of exact match domains are a part of history now. Previously it was easier to rank a certain keyword based domain in search engines, but with the updation and adaptations, now it is content and only content which matters in the search engine algorithms.
Coming to your question of preferring between Gloves.com  and  Workgloves.com for a Eshop selling work gloves only, I would say none. Imagine Apple naming its website phonegadget.com or cellphone.com; imagine microsoft website named computersoftware.com.
I would suggest you go for a good brandable name to create an identity and when it comes to website, concentrate only on content.

Anyway, this is small shop selling one or 2 different gloves. Main point of this shop is offer lover price compare with other shops, on similar gloves. Its not about something brand able, because most shops have same gloves just price are different, so this shop is not about brand.  Question is when peoples typing work gloves in google witch domain  would be better? Probably workgloves.com  but gloves.com is one word with local domain end...

Again I will give another example. Imagine Amazon website with goodsforsale.com or alltypesofproducts.com
You are starting with maybe one or two products in a particular niche, but who knows you can broaden the niche and choice of products at a later age! So I will again suggest to go for a brandable name and concentrate on the content keywords when you want to rank in search engines.
