I'll vouch for Local Bitcoins. You can pay in your own currencies without having to go through exchange rates which is nice.

I would suggest you buy off LocalBitcoins. It is a great site with most users being reputable and trustworthy. The fees usually aren't much when you are buying and selling, so it is worthy it to check out if you are interested. However, it is not a bot-operated website. (At least I do not think so, but don't quote me on that).

There are many other sites such as coinbase and other exchanges where you can get a decent price for bitcoins when buying with fiat.

12%!? Wow that's awful. Maybe if you're buying on a credit card that's normal buy holy crap. Send a bank wire to quadrigacx and their rates are way lower. Coinbase will work too but I think their rates are like 4x quadrigacx. You could always check out foreign exchanges too.

You can buy in the localbitcoins and sell it to your exchangers so that you will have some profit in it. dont buy in exchanger because the price on it is high. in local bitcoins it is late price so that it is cheap

12% still sounds a bit high, but basically on Coinbase you get charged a fee for purchasing currency with fiat, and you get charged another transaction fee for sending it to an external account.

Coinbase charges 3.99% with credit / debit transactions, and 1.49% with a USD wallet. Then, when you send it to a wallet, you need to pay a network fee to the miners for processing this transaction -- this is set dynamically and may be higher or lower at the time of the transaction -- https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/815435-does-coinbase-pay-miner-fees-?b_id=13521

So perhaps you were charged a particularly high network fee for sending your bitcoin.

I would still purchase through exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken -- you can use Kraken if you have Euros -- localbitcoin charges at a premium to the market price -- someone still needs to pay the transaction fee to send bitcoin from one address to another, although it's possible that you can negotiate so that the seller pays the transaction to send it to your wallet (not sure, never purchased there) -- but generally why would you purchase bitcoin from random strangers rather than on an exchange?? They're selling at $100 - $200 premium to the market price!

Also, since you have Coinbase, you can setup a GDAX account -- GDAX is an exchange and it is free to to send coins between Coinbase and GDAX -- this is not a wallet but in case you would like to trade between the BTC, ETC, LTC, there's no need to pay any transaction fees to send to an exchange.

Instead of selling on coinbase, you can find some reputeable members in this forum to trade longer for lowest fee.
Go to Exchanger board, post a thread including commission whatever you wish to give. I hope you will be offered exchanges at best rates.
If you are looking for external exchanger particularly, then localbitcoins is best way to seek and sell to your locals.

It depends on where you lose the $12. Was it because of the exchange rate or was it because of the miner's fee coinbase now charge when transferring bitcoins out of your account. I believe they charge just about 3.99% for canadian users whenever you convert. That means you were charged a lot by the miner's fee. So that you don't get charged a lot, make it big transactions so that you get the best bang for your buck.

I do not want to mislead you, but in South Korea I heard that Bitcoin prices are cheap, first you need to contact someone, it is not an easy task. There's a site called Localbitcoins.com, where you can check.

Local bitcoins is the best place to buy cheaper bitcoins but if you've got a good deal maybe you can get someone here in forum that's willing to sell his coins for cheaper rates.

I didn't knew about this thing but it's like the same with LBC.

For me localbitcoins is the best place to buy bitcoins and even when I have to sell my coins I prefer to do it only on localbitcoins as I am using it since long time and never faced any issue of getting scammed and in that case I am willing to buy even at higher price as I know that my money is safe and not going anywhere.

There are several places you can buy bitcoin. In my country there are even local shops where you go to meet exchanger face to face for buying and selling of bitcoin. When it comes to online, my favorite is localbitcoin, but I do have my go to exchanger,  who I sell to directly without having to use sites like localbitcoin and the rest of them. But when talking of the cheapest, localbitcoin is the cheapest.

You can buy in exchanges like bittrex and poloniex but for me buying in you local store is the more convenient and cheap. No service charge so you'll get your btc in full. No more no less. Also you can pay them with your local currency. Try to ask your local bitcoin community or your friends where will you find this local stores.
