http://techcrunch.com/2013/05/23/the-cryonic-bitcoin-mining-machine-is-15000-of-pure-btc-power/It’s almost impossible for the average computer to mine Bitcoins in any efficient way, hence the rise of Bitcoin mining machines so tuned to their specific purpose that they barely resemble PCs. To wit: the Cryonic Bitcoin FrostBit machine is a PC in name only and contains a liquid nitrogen generator, special ASIC chips, and a price tag that would make the Winklevii twins think twice.

Their FAQ is a riot: e.g. CAN I USE MY FROSTBIT™ CRYONIC UNIT TO MINE FOR LITECOIN, PROCESS VIDEO, OR ANYTHING ELSE? Our team will continue to make it possible to upgrade your FrostBit™ 1000 Cryonic Bitmining unit to allow for additional unit capabilities. Register for updates to learn more about the FrostBit™ 3D upgrade. Looks like they have spent all their effort on a nice website before even learning about Bitcoin mining. Classic vaporware offering...

Also you can't pay for it in bitcoins only USD. LMAO What are you going to pay for this ridiculous machine? Try a cool $15,000, which, sadly, you can’t pay for in BTC.

From the TechCrunch article: To put that in perspective a strong PC with good graphics card can hit about 100 GH/S and in my experience I haven’t been able to get any my machines to hit higher than 50 GH/S. Yeah. He said that. From the Cryoniks website (which, BTW, has disabled right-click copy/paste): We’ve taken ASIC processing to the next level with our patent pending ASIC+ Cryonic Architecture™ featuring select low-temperature superconducting materials. I'm unaware of any materials which exhibit superconductivity at 77K, and which are also useful in constructing those parts of computers that contribute to any processing tasks. Does anyone know of any? So what is the purpose of superconductivity in this device? Marketing? This is not looking real...

Mmmph. Yeah - you take a device of that form factor, with the internals distributed the way their cutaway views show... then you pump 2800W into it and try to maintain 77K. Not gonna happen.

Christ we've all turned into a bunch of cynics... Bitcoin is turning into big money. Imagine all the scams when BTC = $1,000. Every low-life on the planet will be scrambling to part the unwary from their coins.

I think a few of the inaccuracies are by the reporter and not the manufacturer.
Still funny though

Not quite. In the last couple of hours Tech Crunch have pulled the article because the company is a scam operation. It was probably feedback from this forum which alerted them about it.
