Hey everyone,

So, I'm pretty new to the whole alt coin scene. I tinkered a little with bitcoin back in the days when it was like $20 for a bitcoin and regret not continuing my venture in bitcoin :/. But that's old news now. So I have a gaming PC, and I've been trying to find a good Altcoin to start mining. I mined a bit of decred (which apparently is taking off well), but I wanted to get into mining less popular altcoins. Some of the less popular ones that I have been looking into is litecoin ultra, mindcoin (which seems to be dead), deeponion, and verge. Do you guys think I should mine these coins with small marketcap, or should I just stick to mining decred. My specs on my computer are below. I in no way intend to become filthy rich by mining, but see this as a interesting part time hobby Cheesy. Plus I've been reading a lot of posts here and I love the community! Any recommendations or suggestions are much appreciated!

AMD Ryzen 7 1700
16 GB ram
GTX 1080TI
1TB Samsung SSD

Also, my electricity bill is paid by the landlord, so I'm obviously not too worried about electricity costs and anything mined is pretty much pure profit minus what I spent for the computer.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

i would recommend mining Denarius (DNR) it is a fairly new altcoin with lots of potential and would be a good coin to make money off long term with holding it, your 1080ti can reach 100mh/s with some miners.
for more info on where to mine etc PM me

Thanks Tex, I just looked into denarius, and it looks really promising. I like the whole twist on it being an ancient currency from the greek times Tongue. The fact they are aiming towards anonymity is definitely a plus in my books. I'm really surprised how many different cryptocurrencies exist now.

i will go with verge ..
verge ( XVG ) has a low value in the market therefore you will mine a lot of it for a long itme ..
but guess what !! XVG is very comppetetive one and if you will see its chart it is rising so theres a good and big chance that you willl have  many of this and in few weeks it will double triple or even higher the value it is ...

With a 1080ti look at DNR, easy to setup here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2141810

And equihash coins. ZEC ZEN and HUSH. They all appear to have an upside eventually.

For algorithms, tribus, skunkhash, equihash at the top.

.....
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
16 GB ram
GTX 1080TI
1TB Samsung SSD
.....

DNR is not so profitable. If you like it, you can mine even ZEC with your GTX1080Ti, sell it and buy 1.5-1.6 times more DNR than mined with GTX1080Ti in the same period.
You have enough powerful CPU, so you can use it for CPU-only coins (look ZOI, XMG, VRM and so on)
