Announcement (October 28, 2017): In line with our timelines, pre-sale for LBT will be conducted in later half of Fall 2017. However, to establish transparency during the whole process, we are announcing our treasurers / escrows for the pre-sale now who will be holding all funds collected during the process such that these are released only after achieving predefined milestones by the Libre Core Team in line with the project roadmap. Update (October 15, 2017): Airdrop has now ended and LBT allocated to participants. As explained earlier, all participants who have been rolled in for the airdrop were equiprobable to receive any number of LBT between 0 to 1000 LBT and tokens will be sent to your ethereum wallets before pre-ICO being conducted in Fall of this year. For those who don't know already, you can now check your LBT balance by visiting the project site
https://librebazaar.org and clicking Libre Tokens Airdrop and then entering your forum ID and ethereum wallet address. Please note that along with the airdrop, signature campaign has ended as well. You can still use Libre Bazaar forum signatures to support the project but no tokens will be received for that.
Update (September 29, 2017): Another thread was posted for the airdrop campaign to keep it separate from the announcement / bounty thread but for one reason or the other it has been removed (not by us!) without any notification / justification. So it is assumed that it was creating some sort of a nuisance so we'll avoid posting any separate threads for the airdrop campaign. All instructions to join the airdrop campaign are being posted below, all Jr. Members and above can join the airdrop:
1. Visit the project site
https://librebazaar.org and click Libre Tokens Airdrop. You will see two tabs i.e. Sign Up and Check Status
2. In Sign Up tab, enter your Forum ID and Ethereum Wallet Address then submit the form to receive your airdrop key.
3. PM your airdrop key along with any sensible message to be rolled in for the airdrop.
4. To check your balance enter your airdrop key and ethereum wallet address in Check Status tab. Libre Tokens will be air dropped on October 15, 2017 after which you can go ahead and check number of LBT tokens available to you.
LBT will be sent to your ethereum wallet address before the pre-ICO that is scheduled to be conducted in later half of Fall 2017. All participants of the signature campaign have been automatically rolled in for the airdrop, however you do not need to be part of the signature campaign to join the airdrop.

With growing concerns of corporate data sharing and government surveillance, it is not surprising that users are demanding ways to preserve their privacy when required to deal with these corporations. Existing eCommerce giants need to be trusted for privacy but users need to know their privacy is safe without placing trust on a third party. Another problem is the fact that corporate giants have the liberty to allow or disallow an item to be listed on their platform purely at their sole discretion which means that any item that is neither illegal nor unethical might be unfairly prohibited from being listed on these platforms forcing the users to look for alternate means to buy and sell their items.
Libre Bazaar: A Decentralized Anonymous MarketplaceA decentralized marketplace that is accessible to the masses due to its simplicity and ease of use would benefit all eCommerce users who wish to protect their right to privacy. Libre Core Team has started building a Decentralized Anonymous Marketplace (DAM) that will run over Librenet that is a combination of Blockchain and Data Storage Network tightly coupled with peer-to-peer anonymous network routing. Librenet will use a walled garden approach to prevent users from involuntarily affect the level of anonymity and security being offered by the marketplace and hence Librenet will have its own Blockchain that is independent of any of the existing blockchain and its own Data Storage Network; both of which will be kept up and running by Keepers of the marketplace that are decentralized nodes maintaining a copy of the blockchain and encrypted random pieces of marketplace data on their systems. Libre Coins (LBC) will be the currency of the marketplace that will be used for all buying / selling activities.
Libre Bazaar will be built on three key ideas i.e. user friendliness, anonymity and decentralization. It is planned to be so minimalist and intuitive that even the most novice users will be able to conveniently install and use the marketplace. It needs to be completely anonymous with transaction history, sell / purchase history and messages exchanged between buyers and sellers only accessible to the parties involved in a transaction. It has to be completely decentralized with no centralized authorities and the community decides which items get promoted, demoted or removed from the marketplace. It will use a hybrid of proof-of-stake (PoS) and proof-of-keep (PoK) algorithms. PoS is a well known algorithm that rewards stakers for validating transactions depending on the amount they have staked in the network. A second algorithm that will be at works in Librenet will be PoK to incentivize keepers to provide their system resources including storage, bandwidth and CPU to make available contents of the marketplace to users.
Bounty, Airdrop and Pre-ICOLBT is an ERC-20 standard token that will be exchanged at 1:1 ratio with Libre Coins (LBC) once Librenet blockchain is online. All Jr. Members and above are eligible to become a part of signature campaign and airdrop.

To verify that you have set up everything correctly and also to check your accumulated shares, go back to Libre Token Airdrop page and under 'Check Status' tab insert your airdrop key and ethereum wallet address and click submit to check whether you have set up the forum signature correctly and the shares gained so far. Please note that your forum signature is verified and eligible shares added to your account by the system on a daily basis.
