I hold an account at blockchain.info. However, for some reason I did not receive the additional BitCash when the fork happened.
blockchain said my account was an import ?
Have I lost out forever ?

You have not lost your BCash, just use the seed (12 word's phrase that apear on your blockchain.info account) on Electron wallet, and you will be able to convert your BCash to Bitcoin sending it to an exchange (Bittrex, Hitbtc, Poloniex...) and from there make the conversion and send bitcoins to your blockchain.info wallet if you want. http://www.electroncash.org/

I almost understand ... I know about the 12 word seed (I have that stored safely). However I don't know anything about electron wallet I could have a mess around, but I'm guessing there's a link someone could post I really appreciate this !!!!!

There are other ways to get your BCash. One of them is downloading this program called Electron CashLinks: https://www.bitcoincash.org/http://www.electroncash.org/

And two what if I now have my btcs in about two or more wallets, does that mean I will have to download several electron cash softwares to be able to use it and get my BCH?

Make sure you've moved the Bitcoin out of the wallet first. I'd use Coinomi instead of Electron Cash. There's a guide on how to do it here - https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-cash-coins-44fcc6008bb6Thank you for the submission but I want to ask, what if I had transferred the btc out to another wallet say electrum from blockchain.info can I still claim my BCH? They're now separate blockchains that split on that date. If you had coins in a wallet on August 1st that's the wallet the BCH will still be in regardless of where your bitcoins went afterwards.

After following the instruction of claiming the BCH using the electron cash model, after I typed in the entire 12 seeds from blockchain.info, its still not proceeding to where I get to see my BCH. Is there anything I am missing in the sense that after I input everything the "next" was still disabled.

Your BCH (bitcoin cash) will be in whichever wallet (ie: private key) that you were using when the fork happened. It's not like you can now send your BTC (bitcoin) to another wallet and claim your BCH there. You can only access your BCH from the private key you were using when the fork happened. Anything you have done with your BTC after the fork does not affect your BCH - your BCH will stay in your old private key forever unless you do something with it.
Which wallet were you using on 1 August?

Are you absolutely certain you downloaded from the official site? Did you let it auto complete the BIP39 word list? If you have an android device then try Coinomi instead. I'd rather be using an established program than a new one.

blockchain said my account was an import ?
if your private keys were imported in your wallet then you can NOT recover them using the 12 word recovery phrase which is also called Seed. seed only recovers the keys that were generated by your wallet not the ones you have imported. for that you have to have the private keys separately and use them. or you can look around in your blockchain.info account to see if they allow you to get the private key of that particular address you have imported. it should be under your wallet section.
