Hi guys. About current fall in bitcoin price. Is that because China banned the ICOs? If so, why did it rise before that? Can you guys please recommend some books to read which explains about the factors influencing bitcoin price? Thanks in advance

It's not only about bitcoin. Ether and all other altcoins are falling as well. The problem is that we reached the end of the bubble. More people started to exit, as this happens, more people joined this sell party. This triggered a huge falling, simply say.

It falls because people sell Cheesy

It's most likely falling because it reached a round number (5000) and many people use round numbers to cash out. Besides, after the recent rise, a correction was due... So everything is following its "natural" course. I don't really think the ICO situation played a role.

I don't think there are books on the subject.

Maybe because the level average of the sellers are much more higher than the buyers that's why the price value is crashing down, and every time this thing happens most of the bitcoin fanatic who are not deep into bitcoin got panic and had a feelings of fear about it. But still you need to hold on your coins, just continue to believe in folks.

I think it's a combination of many things. The China ICO ban. A minor correction after such a quick rise resulting in many people selling off the lock in profits. Once the fall began more people panic sold causing a further drop. Beyond that. And entering the weekend where banks are closed resulting in little powering buying to transfer new money in especially from many of the newcomers. Hopefully we will see the fall stop once tomorrow hits.

It's interesting, but maybe that's happening before a huge dump. We 100% don't know what's happening in China. Because news as well could be sold.

What goes up, most come down. This correction was long overdue.

I don't think that China's ICO statement had much of an influence. The alts follow suit because that's what they always do when BTC starts bleeding. Let's see where the bottom is.

If USD 4k,- holds, that's bullish. If not... cheap coins I guess? We'll see, the jury is still out whether it's just a minor speed bump or the actual end of the rally.

Basically when the Chinese government shift their weight the ripple affect is felt globally. They have made an announcement

lately on ICO's and this is causing the ripple affect in the markets. A lot of people see China as one of the economic giants and

when that government turns it's back on ICO's it will slow down the influx of capital into some of these projects. They forget

about all the other countries that might still invest in these ICO's. Let's be honest, some of these ICO's has been a joke and

people lost a ton of money on these failed projects.  Angry

Its all about supply and demand.
When the demand for bitcoins is less the price falls and when the demand for bitcoin is more, the price for bitcoins rises.
There are tons of buyers who sell on huge amount and when the price falls they then buy again at a low price.
These are times for us to buy and make a profit.
I too just bought 0.5btc more for investment... its not everyday that the price falls at a huge margin.

if u can't find any book about the rise and fall of bitcoin, i think u can put attention to opinion of political policies that affect the economy because economic policies always affect the exchange rate of money.

ICO announcement, yeah. Raised alarms and concerns about the crypto market as a whole, even though it's not related to BTC per se. The good news is that China have tackled BTC directly in the past, and it returned back and doubled within a month or two - it'll bounce back...good time to think about buying in.

On my own research and observations bitcoin is falling price because of the appearance of different kinds of cryprocurrencies, just like the ethereum,Altcoins, litecoins and many more. These other appearance of coins or simply these coins has also an high value thats why people and users also use these and in that case the users and bitcoiners are lessening because of many crypto that appears.Bitcoin is falling because of these things happening.

I think you hit it on the round number.  People have been waiting for it to hit 5000 before they sold some, just to be sure they didn't lose all of it.  I know I would have felt better to get a little out before a major correction.  If I had any to get  Grin

I suppose exactly this negative news from China provoked the fall in the price. China owns many of coins and users and must be they all moved to selling of their founds.
This information really makes me scared. I have invested in some ICOs this summer and I'm scared what is going to be with those tokens that I have bought already in the case if here all ICO projects will be banned here too.

Probably this too: https://www.coindesk.com/btc-es-big-claim-bitcoin-withdrawals-begin-tomorrow/

"BTC-e, the long-running and controversial bitcoin exchange targeted by US authorities last month, has claimed that users will be able to withdraw their funds beginning Saturday."

I think the reason of bit coin fall is lots of traders sell their coins and cashing out because bitcoin hit the highest price. And some reasons too that affect the fall of coins is China banned  the ICO's.

Actually, this fall is a normal one after a hige raise the last week.
No body excepted that Bitcoin will reach 4000.
The fall won't affect too much the value of Btc and and I Don't think it will be down 3800.
