Win a bitcoin from The Bitcoin List!

Here's how: Rate and review a site at The Bitcoin List before July 1st, 2011. That's it!

One person will be chosen at random and announced in this thread as the recipient of one (1) BTC on July 1st. Reviewing multiple sites will NOT increase your odds of winning but WILL benefit the Bitcoin community, so you are still encouraged to do so.

As always, if you don't see your Bitcoin related site on The List, let me know and I'll add it.

Good Luck!

Still around.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Could you implement a simple OpenID login instead of requiring us to register for yet another bitcoin site?

I mean, I'm not saying that *you* could be theoretically using the usernames/pws/emails/whatever from your site for ill means, just saying that if every bitcoin site requires a separate login, one of them *could* be using it for that purpose. If everyone simply uses OpenID, that kind of abuse is eliminated.

Thanks.

You're right. I'm going on almost no sleep and misread the reply. Let me look into OpenID plugins.

Thebitcoinlist.com is asking for some information from your Google Account <account>

Uhh.. do you *really* need my full email address? When I sign on for example the bitparking namecoin exchange, it just asks me to login with my gmail login, but doesn't require access to my email address. Why do you need it?

Cool.

It's getting very interesting now:  I tried to register using OpenID and I get an effing error:  Invalid argument: token_url domain not in whitelist

(token_url in this context is http://www.thebitcoinlist.com/)

Cheers,

Turns out the plugin required my domain in two different formats and I only did one. Just tested it myself and it worked but please let me know if anyone has any more difficulties.

It doesn't quite work for me yet, but it might not be your fault.  One thing that is a bit weird is that when i reach my OpenID provider it says “You are signing in to tbl.rpxnow.com as MY_OPENID_HERE”, where I expect it to say “You are signing in to www.thebitcoinlist.com as MY_OPENID_HERE”.

That said, I'm never returned to www.thebitcoinlist.com, and that might be the part that is beyond your control:  I have previously experienced the rpxnow thingey to hang here.

Cheers,

Only three people have reviewed sites; your odds are very good right now of winning that 1 BTC. Only 6 days left.

Still around.

Just a note, i don't like that OpenID thing; i feel way more secure having different login info for each site than placing all eggs in the same basket

(I dont always get new reply notifications, pls send a pm when you think it has happened)

Wanna gimme some BTC/BCH for any or no reason? 1FmvtS66LFh6ycrXDwKRQTexGJw4UWiqDX Smiley

You can still register to the site with the original login interface. The OpenID login didn't replace it, only supplemented it.

Still around.
