So, first thing I want to ask is if anyone has received BFL's Jalapeno, and if they are mining with it as we speak? Is this a viable option right now? How long does shipping take after buying it? And should you buy from BFL's site?

That aside, I am looking at investing in a graphics card to boost my hash speed. Here is the link to the card I was looking at:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130680&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814130680&gclid=COGXxb_-rbcCFSjZQgodbmEAMg

It's an EVGA GeForce 520. I could get it for $40. Any idea about what this thing could do in terms of hashing? And if this one is bad, what is the best mining graphics card? The most bang for your buck?

I have money to invest in bitcoin mining, and I would like to do it right the first time. Should I go graphics cards or BFL products like the Jalapeno?

Thank you all who reply to this post!

Cheers  Smiley

If it's just a kind of hobby, use the money to buy bitcoin from exchange.

If you want to mine seriously, buy some radeon cards, e.g 7970 first. You can search for the best GPU bitcoin mining rig setup in this forum. You also need to order avalon chips, many group buys are going on in this forum. You can join them.

Once you get the avalon rig (in around 3 months), re-sell your 7970s or use them to mine LTC instead.

Yes don't count on BFL, you are better off trying to get a Avalon ASIC chips and have someone put the PCB together for you if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.

BFL delivered some developer samples and so far there is no mass production.
