Accused of perpetrating a “profound evil,” former Pennsylvania judge Mark Ciavarella Jr. has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for illegally accepting money from a juvenile-prison developer while he spent years incarcerating thousands of young people.

to three months at a juvenile detention center for mocking an assistant principal on a MySpace page

If anyone did this in the UK people would be smuggling weapons in seriously or at least marching in the thousands to protest it.

What? UK and ''weapons''? They have the most crazy stance towards anything that can have the remotest possibility of being used to harm another human being. You are basically only able to call the cops so that someone will clean the mess after your guts spill out on the pavement.. I've heard of people being in big trouble for carrying a screwdriver.

Yeah, but that's politics, the politicians and activists in this country live in their own isolated bubble while the rest of us live in the real world, we also have a recorded history of putting peoples heads on a pike when we lose our temper with them for oppressing us too much.
