Following on from a couple of posts from yesterday evening, some of you will know I own www.gorafflin.com and I was looking at ideas of implementing BTC into the raffles etc. One of the main concerns that has been flagged is people wouldn't be happy to just send BTC to a "newbie" on the Bitcoin Talk forum, and I completely understand the concerns there. I would like to reassure those reading that I'm not here to try anything funny,
and I am simply looking at ideas as to whether this would actually be doable or not.

One thing I'm happy to do to attempt to gain trust etc is to hold a few raffles on my site with the tickets being purchased in fiat and winnings being paid in BTC. One raffle I would be prepared to hold would be the following:

  • A 50 ticket raffle at £4 / 5GBP per ticket. Payments are made via paypal for your guys security.
A prize to the winner of 0.05BTC at market value when the winning ticket is drawn.

As above, I am still looking at ideas etc, however I would be happy to list one of these raffles ASAP if I gain enough interest. One thing I don't want is for loads of people to show interest, half of you buy tickets and the other half pull out, them i'm left with 25 angry people screaming at me for refunds. I can list this raffle anytime, so if I gain enough interest I will do this as an attempt at gaining trust / peoples confidence etc.

Any feedback on the above would be great, and if we can get the interest, i'll get the raffle listed!

Thanks

Will the 0.05 BTC prize be paid in Bitcoins?

Hi, yes I will pay 0.05BTC to a wallet specified by the winner. This is all to gain trust and some rep, and hopefully will all go towards implementing this into running BTC for payments and winnings etc. Doing this in fiat is just a good way for me to offer security to you guys and gain the trust which I fully understand I don't yet have.

Thanks,

all is good and well but a simple one time game isnt enough to gain a solid rep! but being open and honest will show in time!

Not just the one game mate, looking to gain enough rep for the first raffle, then hopefully the winner will post about it, and see how far word of mouth can take it around the Bitcoin Talk community. Just need enough rep to get that first raffle won!
