No, you can not trace. Unless the users are not careful, maybe there is a small possibility that you can know who is the owner of that address but in most cases, it is hard to know who steal that amount of bitcoin. Moreover, there are many bitcoin mixer around and the thief can use those services to hide their bitcoin easily

hello all,how are u all,
a friend was scammed of a huge amount of btc,and i want to know if one can retract a btc already in another wallet, thank u

You could track it by using the TXID but you could never take it back, because first, you never knew who you were talking to, second, it is already been stolen, so, begging to give it back to you is not going to work, it is an easy money to them, all you can do is to learn from your mistake and move on.

It maybe hard at first, however, accepting it will make you feel more better, there is a lot of ways on how you could take that back what you have lost(not literally), I mean by doing something more legit and safe will do.

if you have sent BTC to another wallet, then you can not pull it back unless you know with the person who received BTC from you.
then you should before send BTC be careful and check the wallet you will send BTC.

Yeah that's true! no one ever get there stolen bitcoin before even to those victim of wannacry virus the ransomeware worm that attack many computer all over the world and they don't even caught until now, so it is very difficult then to trace scammed bitcoin, just be very careful then on every transaction you made on internet because no one is safe in digital world, anyone can be a victim here.

It is possible to track stolen BTC, and we have two examples for this. First, when Tomáš Jiřikovský stole the coins from Sheep Marketpklace, a few of the victims tracked his transactions and in the end that led to his arrest. And second instance was with the Mt Gox robbery. The coins were traced to BTC-e accounts owned by Alexander Vinnik, and this was one of the reasons behind his arrest this year.
Yes, bitcoin can be traced, I’ve always known that, but not to the extent that it can lead to an arrest. Very good to know that the evil people can at least be traced, thanks for sharing this examples. This also shows that bitcoin is much better than Ethereum, because Ethereum can’t be traced like that.

Yes you can trace it. With Blockchain info as long as you know the wallet address you will find it. You just have to copy the address that came with bitcoins. And paste it in the search box on the blockchain you will see all its transactions. It's bad you can not get it back. I only hope that you will know which country and who is responsible for it. Many of these issues are no longer resolved and of course they have not recovered the stolen ones. So now tell your friend that he is careful about keeping his bitcoins. Be responsible for not repeating the incident anymore

the only one thing left when you trying to track the scammer is the transaction id or hash id. but if you want to know if either to whom is that btc wallet, its totally impossible because of its anonymous identity unless, like in our country, our btc wallet here has a feature of whole personal info of our identity, so they can track the person who scam/stole your btc by the help of wallet admin provider.
What on Earth makes you think that the hacker wouldn't hide such info? If someone can make a transaction from your wallet into his, I think he will be also capable of removing his records. Even somehow we trace the person; the chances are low that he still has bitcoins.

I would like to say that consider those coins are lots forever since tracing or making those coins come back would be really impossible knowing that bitcoin do have irreversible transactions which means if its confirmed then theres no chance to cancel or take those money back. You can trace up the transaction on where those funds been transfered but talking on the owner of that address is impossible.

aw i am so sorry about your friend mate i hope he will recover his losses well unfortunately you can't reclaim your bitcoins in the another address it's not like bank or paypal that can recharge you back all you can do is to watch and trace the bitcoins and where it will sent to. so tell your friend next time be cautious on who will transact with.

Transactions can be traced but getting back your money? I don't think so, this is the major con of bitcoin from paper currency. Because it is not governed by laws that make people afraid of scamming other people. Unlike in fiat that every transaction happens personally or by banks. Which makes it easier to get back what you lost and make the culprits pay for whatever they did to you. Tell your friend to just light a candle and cry over it for a night and get over it the next day.
Stolen BTC can't be tracked on the blockchain it will not get money back for the owner and we can't identify who stole your BTC. Using Bitcoin could hide your identity from others. You should secure your wallet carefully then link to your email to know who was trying to access your wallet.

I think that we can trace a stollen bitcoin but it is very hard for us to do that. And if the owner decides to use bitcoin mixer, we will have no chance to trace it anymore. Bitcoin mixing is one of the greatest inventions here and I do think that It can stop people from following other people's wallet

Well chainanalysis proved with the mtgox-btce case that even mixed coins can be traced. It's hard to do but it can be done.

My recommendation for OP is to explain everything to the police, because they might have the means.

May be it is possible in the future but not in this day. Because there is no such software to give you the guarantee of tracing your lost coins. As you mentioned that you can only trace your transaction and do not know who the receiver is, I suggest that there should be a program which can stop illegal transaction. By this way I think your bitcoin will be safe and no one will hack and steal them.

Yes, it is possible to trace the stolen bitcoin from your wallet, just go to the transaction list and you can see the bitcoin transaction hash with the information of the hacker bitcoin wallet address. But if the hacker decided to use a bitcoin mixer service, it would be difficult for you to track down the transaction.

It is possible to track transaction in the blockchain, BUT and it it a big but, You can never know if the coins are still owned by the person who stole them, or if he has already sold them.

Any transfer can be a transfer to a new owners address, or transfer between the same owners addresses. How could you know?

It is possible to sell bitcoins outside of exchanges too. Eg. in localbitcoins or net forums.

You can check it, yes but there is more than that is useless. You should already know the bitcoin transaction can not be sued anymore. So your only hope of returning your money is a scammer, with a miracle, deciding to send it back to you.

To be honest we can't. Though, if you could only knew who has the motive to that then you could track his IP address but if none then it's better to move on. This is one of the advantages and disadvantages of this world. Since it's being decentralized some take advantage in it to transact without the government noticing it and to do illegal stuffs. But for your friend his/her money is long gone. Millions are transacting every day and your chances if recovering the loss BTC is unimaginable.

Sad to know that my friend maybe the transaction they have by the thief will trace but the money he stole were never pull back by the other user. Next time tell your friend that be careful with many hackers around.
What wallet he used why the thief stolen their huge btc we have our own secret key i think its hardly scam by the others.

Yes the funds has already gotten into the wrong hands and so even though you might see the location IP address and wallet of the thief and other details you can not reverse the transaction unfortunately.
