During the past few decades the adult industry has been subject to staggering growth. Recent reports of yearly worldwide revenue of around $100 billion might be impressive, but issues such as piracy have slowed down the growth of this sector. However, there is a multi-billion dollar niche within the adult industry that keeps growing – erotic live webcam streams. The reason for this unhalted growth can be seen in the nature of this niche. Unlike conventional porn this niche is almost immune to the issue of piracy, since the selling point of live webcams is to be seen in the fact that the user can directly communicate and interact with the performer. The niche of erotic live webcams offers a human intimacy aspect that usual porn cannot.
Right now, the big live webcam streaming platforms work with a system based on “virtual tokens”. These can be purchased by users on the platform and sent to performers via a “tipping system”. Regular platforms make the price of these virtual tokens and take large percentages of the performers’ earnings. To put it in numbers, platforms will often times take up to 40%+ of what webcam models have worked for. This is an issue that has not been solved yet and it is our goal to present a solution:
Freewatch Token.
Freewatch Token is an Ethereum Token that will be implemented on freewatch.io, a new upcoming webcam live streaming platform. On this platform performers will have the freedom to finally work for themselves and actually receive the payments that their watchers decide to send them. Freewatch.io will not take large percentages of the payments, but will offer a secure environment for webcam models to do the work they are used to doing – with a chance of much higher profits. The price of Freewatch Tokens will not be made by the platform, but by the market, which will give control back to the users.
As you can also read in the white paper our concept is based on the idea that blockchain technology and smart contracts are and will be changing the way the world works. With this in mind we aim at changing the present outdated system that is erotic live webcam streaming.
The positive outcome of this project will benefit every party involved, except for the present platforms owners that have been making money to the detriment of their users. For this reason anonymity is very important for us, especially at the current stage of the project.
