So I have a friend that has offered to sell me his broken antminer S7. He told me that one board has 54 chips and the other two have 45 chips. All three boards show up but only one hashes out of the three. He also said sometimes it doesn't hash until you reboot it. Could it be a bad control board? Is this fixable?

Bad control board? Not as likely as hash board problem.  Is it fixable? Possibly, contact bitmainwarranty.com  (soon to be myrig) and ask.

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc

Sounds like he hacked together that system. The system should have either 3 boards with 45 chip boards or 3 boards with 54 chip boards

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Yeah,   I'm the guy who is selling this.

Not sure what is wrong with it buddy, but I can answer any questions if you have them.

The 54 chip board is from an older batch miner, the two younger boards are from a newer miner.  I don't know enough about it to fix it, but someone said it was the control board
