Hello,

i see dalkores offer for hosting ASIC's with a power cost of $0.02kWh but the USA is far away. I fear that shipping asics or miner there could possibly mean problems at customs.

So isnt there a place similar to this in europe? With really low power cost where Asics could be hosted?

Greetings!
Sebastian

I thought about island too, beneath norway (looks like norway has rising power price in the last time too). But i believe island isnt in european union too, so maybe another customs that could make problems... anyway... a hosting there would be interesting... though i didnt even find the power prices there because google always misinterprets island for "an island" or the name of a decentral combined heat and power station...

I wonder... its islands strenght... even google is having their datacentres there. That means there has to be persons that sell such services at least for datacentres... but at the end a bitcoiner has to be there that knows what its all about and what to do.

Bosnia had the cheapest electricity once, there was some price restructuring few months ago but wife takes care about that so I don't really know the exact price.

You might have more luck if you try with Iceland  Smiley

https://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&q=iceland+electricity+cost

Wikipedia says it is 9-10 cents though it lists USA as from 8 cents cheapest so I don't know is it reliable

Romania and Bulgaria have an abundance of renewables, an extensive wind and solar network and will be EU members at the turn of the year. They are both super cheap. Bulgaria's personal and business tax are both 10%. Romania is 10 bus 17 personal I think.

Make my day! Say thanks if you found me helpful Smiley BTC Address --->

I finally found a list with electricity prices: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electricity_pricing I believe its the price for private users though. But when i see... iran 2 to 19 usd-cent... Smiley

I wonder how low can industrial customers get their power. As far as i read they can get direct contracts with the electricity power exchange. Then i see the prices there: http://www.eex.com/de/ Its 32€/MWh. That should be around $3.5 Cent... I wonder how low this could get. In germany the power costs at the exchanges are dropping everytime too because of the huge amount of solarpower coming in... only the big suppliers of power raise the price and claim the reason is the costly solarpower. Clear lie to keep their atomic mills. But when one would have access to the power exchange you wouldnt need to buy from them.
But its only a thought... its probably too hard to achieve.

Sometimes individual non-industrial customers may get direct contracts with the power companies but it will cost extra if it requires investments in the infrastructure and only for high usage.

As for Germany, it doesn't lie in the middle of the Sahara desert, using solarpower is (especially in that part of the world) more expensive unless one relies on government subsidies.  Roll Eyes

Of course the solar power costs are getting lower over time, as the technology is becoming more common, manufacturers are finding ways of making it cheaper and more efficient.

As for that graph above, price electricity in Poland is of course dependent on the place but it is generally more expensive, and definitely more expensive than France (I have lived in both countries, most of the electricity (~90%) is derived from nuclear power stations, in Poland there are none).

Yes, i didnt mean that i want to build a solar plant... i only said that the amount of solar power flowing into the market is pushing the power price down in the exchanges. I believe i read that is mostly because the solar panels run once the investment is done... nearly no cost is following by running them after that time.

There are some communities in germany too that can give their members, mostly a small village, cheaper power. But the power cost is in no where near the $0.02kWh Dalkore gets...
