Suggest or give options rather experiences to stay safe here at bitcointalk and get out of trouble or issue's while you stayed here.
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Bitcoin related, always be the sole owner of your private keys.
Which means staying off exchanges, online wallets or trusting any sort of third party.

I second that.

In addition: Trust no one. Double (tripple) check everything you hear (read). Follow the forum rules.

Bitcoin technology - protocol and cryptography - has a strong record of security records, and Bitcoin's network is probably the largest distributed tally project in the world. Bitcoin's most common disadvantage lies in its user error. Bitcoin wallet data that holds private keys can be erased accidentally, lost, or stolen. This is similar to physical cash stored in digital form. Fortunately, users can apply security measures to protect their money or use the services of providers that offer high level security and insurance against theft or loss.

I can give two advices:
Work carefully. Especially when you make transactions.
That means controle them twice before you send it. Make sure that you have the correct address, and not fees mixed up with the transaction amount.

The secon advice: Use your brain!
You will find many offers here sounding too good to be true. In that case, they are not true.
Somebody wants your coins and is counting on your greed that you give them to him.

  It's me!!!
