Esp the
7nm miner thread That one *is* a nice place to shine a little light behind the curtain and spotlight the tech that makes all of today's Shiny Bright Toys not only possible but available to so many of the Mass Consumers of them who (for good reason - no real need to know) are utterly clueless about what it takes to make today's omnipresent high-tech Things.
If it pops a few overly-optimistic bubbles then glad to provide a little Reality to their dreams.
Maybe they will even appreciate their toys a bit more. Dreams are great but they also need to have a basis on what can be done in the real world at the time.
edit: Even better -- if the
7nm thread and the others akin to it inspires someone to seriously look into a career in the various highly skilled ergo well paying tech fields involved -- fantastic. I've been an EE since 1975 and the last 40+ have been centered on the design and use of industrial lasers. I'll be doing this until the day I die. We DO need Dreamers but they need to understand how things work to begin with, look around at what is being done that is even remotely related to your project (or Dream) and how it is currently being done and
then build from that foundation to create or at least make possible the Next Thing.
