As for google docs, any recommendations on what we should use instead? This is the first time I've made a signup form and am not too experienced in the matter, any advice helps.

The domain name privacy is only while we set everything up. We don't have offices at the moment, so it's based out of my house, and I don't really want everybody on the internet knowing where I live (for now at least). Once we get a more public location and a number (toll free, of course) then we're releasing everything.

I completely agree with the transparency statement, so I'll try to be as open as possible.

My name is Jonathan Bunt, and I'm a student in Austin, Texas. I decided against making an account solely for the purpose of BitProcessors precisely for the manner. If you wish to speak to me, my Skype is included in my account information. I am a long time (late 2012) Bitcoin enthusiast and wish to help make it more accessible.

What we offer is a processing Terminal, sort of like a credit card swiper, but specifically for use with Bitcoin. We're currently making a prototype, so not even I have more info as to the specifics for the time being.


You really shouldn't trust a random stranger on the internet, which is why I'm willing to give out my information. If you order a device from us, we'll make sure to go through all the legal aspects with you, and may even go as far as to give you my home address and phone number if you seem trustworthy so that you can reach us at any time.

The bitcoins would go to either an online wallet of your choosing, to your exchange account where they get transferred to fiat, or to the device itself.

You know you receive the payment, because at no time do we touch your coins. How it works is you input your own address (leading to an exchange or whatever you like) when you receive the device. Then, anytime anyone wants to pay with BTC, you input the final price on a keypad, the device makes a transaction address with a multiple recipient, we take a percentage of the amount sent and you get the rest. You then get a confirmation when the specified amount of confirmations are reached (Normally 0 for anything less than $100 or so). At no point do we ever access your wallet or your private addresses.

Thanks for your response.    I'm not trying to discourage new bitcoin businesses but if you are serious about your business you have to at least have to connect it to a real world person.  This give you credibility and also hopefully makes you more accountable.

(ie. Whether or not BFL is a scam - we know who they are and should users chose to do so they can pursue them legally.)

The problem with too many bitcoiners is they are (probably) well meaning hobbyists who see the limitless possibilities of the protocol (as we all do). But what that fail to realize is that they are essentially opening financial service business which mean you are responsible for the custody of other peoples' funds (not to mention laws and regulation in every country not only in which they operate but in which they also have customers).

And as we've seen toooooo often in the community are Business come along  and provide a popular service that starts on a $5/month shared server that grows to control hundreds of thousand or even millions of dollars of value.

Then it gets hacked, or a nefarious owns absconds with the funds or the inexperienced ownership just make bad business decisions and everyone is FUCKED

Bitcoin is not play money.

This makes a lot of sense, thank you. The way we're trying to go about this, is to make it a point that we will NEVER be in control of anybody's money. Our devices literally create a QR code to request a transaction to a bitcoin address, and then check if the transaction was received by checking for the transaction ID. You input your wallet address, and close the connections, so there's no way to change where the transactions are received (for better or for worse).

I'll be sure to update it with more info on myself and who we are.


One more question, if you don't mind my asking, what would you recommend we use instead of google docs? You had previously stated that it was very discouraging, and I wish to make it as easy as possible to sign up.

You could just make your own signup page with a MySQL (or SQLite) database behind it.

There is clearly a need for a self - contained bitcoin point of sale device and if you get it right it could be HUGE!  This is one of the BIGGEST pain point in greater bitcoin adoption, allowing merchants to easily and cheaply accept bitcoin as a form a payment at the point of sale.

(I don't know about you guys but I've seen more then a few Level-up devices popping up around the NYC area so clearly some business are interested in new technology.)

Regarding the google docs: You have a slick website, then you redirect to the google docs to sign up. I just seem a bit amateur  and detracts from the slick website we've just experience.

Finally the whole announcing a product that doesn't exist then asking member to sign up or worse (PAY UP FRONT)  just smacks of scam.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, and I totally agree. The main thing we decided to leave out of the site were the prices. We won't charge anybody a single cent until we actually have a product available that you order and receive in 3-5 business days. We've been checking our budget, and maybe if we can get enough funding (From private investors, not from donations), we won't have to charge anything, period. So far, each device costs about $80 to make, but if we can cut the price in half, we may be able to give these machines out for free and just pay them back slowly with the percentage we take.
We're not going to send out a single email either until we actually have all the equipment to set up the prototype.

We don't want to come out looking like a scam, that's why we don't have a single donate link, no place to put in a pre order, or anything that would allow you to send money to us. The project may require some funding later on once production starts, but that will be private funding and not donation based crowd funding.


As for the proof of concept, just the fact that people actually signed up for updates is already proof enough in and of itself, we know there is a market for this type of technology (As you mentioned, a good example is Level-up), we just wanted to know if we could fit into it, and so far the results say yes.


Also, thanks for the insight on why not google docs, you're very right, and I hadn't seen it that way. I'll be sure to change it as soon as I can.

From what I seem to see, is that people like to have products they can have in their hands at any given moment, so for now, that's our largest priority. As soon as we have a working prototype, I'll be sure to update the site.
