This is so true. I hop from one coin to another for short term gains if I do not care for the project. I hold the ones I like for the long term.

Ark is up there for me as a good 5 year HODL.

I have to disagree with you. I think the majority of crypto investors trade for the short term. They don't invest for the long term. That explains why there are so many coins. Traders don't care about the merits of the coin, as long as there is volume and volatile prices, they just trade it up and down.

Imho who invest for short only then not interested project self and his essence. That's why there are many scam project which doing all for short pump-dump. It is not crypto it is scamto.

certainly, for long term man. why invest for short terms can't long time and coin will die its not good just lose your money..

I do both.
I started as a long-term investor but right now I'm using my profits to invest in ICO's to make more money. 50% of the money I make from ICO's is being reinvested in other ICO's or projects I like (mostly ICO's though to keep the flow flowing ) and the other 50% stay there and become long-term investments.

If you are looking for long term investment you need to invest on bitcoin and some most trusted altcoins according to its market value. Since, eth smart contracts and grown up enormously you do invest on those kind new ICO if you looking for short term profit. For long term profit bitcoin holding is the only way to become a millionaire.

I do for both short term and long term. Short term profit is cashed out to meet my daily expenses and for routine work . this also helps me in leveraging if there is a fall in the market with profits cashed out some part I buy it back at lower price so that my average prices gets balanced and do incur too heavy looses if there is huge dip in some coins.

As I dont get much time to keep tracks of my trade I dont invest short term for altcoins too. ICO's are meant to be long term investments. They are made for a purpose and if it is completed then the token will have very good value. So it is better in one way to hold them for longer term.

i think same like most of people, its up to altcoin.
i prefer to invest Bitcoin and some altcoins for long term and
invest some another altcoins for gain in short term. BUT, after that gain, i would add them to my long term investments.

Some ICO's present solid projects, and if they have a solid team behind them it is worth investing it. Personally, for long term gain, I'll hold my bitcoin for as long as possible to see how far it will go.

Depending on its altcoin. ETH, LTC and XRP has i hold for long term. Because, i don't doubt the prospect of three altcoins. While other altcoins, i use to speculate in terms for achieving shortterm profits. I do that continuously and grow the amount bitcoin i have.

Long term investment can be a good call for people who already have lots of money. I sincerely like the short term investments more because the profitability is almost always greater.

I generally invest for not so short term gains. But I always share risk to be based some on long term as well. Long term investments are shared between secure coins and speculative ones. That's it.

Short-term trading requires good trader skills and strong nerves, I think for beginners longer-term trading is more suitable, just hold good altcoins and wait for pump

I do make both long term and short term investment decisions and both of them has been profitable and I will keep this position for now until I find out the one I am comfortable with.
