I was doing my first ethereum transaction right now as I got paid this way for the very, very first time. Received my coins here on my mobile wallet: 0xeE183DC2242b25ef8AE86caf4FEF6d18794893c8 https://etherscan.io/address/0xee183dc2242b25ef8ae86caf4fef6d18794893c8And sent them right away to an exchange as I was familiar way more with bitcoin than ethereum. As the mobile wallet's QR code reader function (Coinomi) did not work at all, I had to manually type the destination address and of course did a typo. It was supposed to be sent to: 0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b058b And I sent them there: 0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b059b https://etherscan.io/address/0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b059bI think I am going to die now, what the heck. with bitcoin you cant send to wrong and invalid addresses how is that going with ethers??? Anybody knows what to do? How on earth could this crypto currency be send to invalid / non existing addresses??? I for sure will never use ethereum again, this is crazy wtf..

Well it appears your screwed. It's a valid address, that's why it worked. Same thing can happen with bitcoin. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm afraid to tell you that the ETH you used is lost because the transaction is showing confirmed already and also unfortunetly the address was a valid one. Sorry for your losses Don't do these type of mistakes again

it's a huge value. why such a thing can happen without being deliberately. the only way if you find the owner of the wallet. I think you're really out of luck bro. I'm sorry to hear that.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Non-reversible and no recourse. Unless you know the owner of the wallet and they do you a solid.

Wow, so sorry for your loss! Was there no way to copy/paste the address? I don't know if I'd trust myself to manually type in an address without an error. If I just had to do it I'd double, triple, and quadruple check the address.

unfortunately not, no. i could have sent me the wallet by messenger or mail.. but did not as i was in a rush and just wanted to get them onto the exchange. was a big and truly expensive mistake as i know now. and i know it was a pretty dumb idea to accept an altcoin i was not familiar with, but it was ONE small typo, a 9 instead of 8 in the address. this is unbelievably bad luck..

Sorry to hear that. This might be a bit naive, but if the owner of that address is honest and a bitcointalk member, maybe you can start a thread trying to find the owner of that address? Maybe offer a reward or something like that? It is a huge chunk of money so they might be willing to come forward.

Out of curiosity has anyone ever had a successful recovery of a mislaid transaction where the owner just transferred it back or a partial amount back?

Wow, so sorry to hear about this happening to you. I might be doing this wrong as I'm not as familiar with Eth as BTC, but I'm showing that the wallet had no transactions prior to this one. https://etherscan.io/balancecheck-tool?a=0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b059bSo... I am thinking that while it must be a valid address (either that or Eth does not check/care), that the wallet has never actually been used. I don't know if that helps or makes it worse in terms of recovery. Again, very sorry and I hope you are able to recover your funds.

Nothing can be done. You made more than 1 typo here:
0x3F13171BEdAf7a2b6e69fC12e08ff0429D8b058b 0x3F13171BedAf7a2B6E69Fc12e08fF0429d8b059b * * * ** * * ? I understand typos after number, but you had two ff and you typed f F?
To many typo if you ask me. Are you trolling us here?

I'm sorry but I have to laugh! . In my opinion, you should ALWAYS copy and paste the address and certainly, you screwed up. Your mistake turned out to be a very expensive one!

Won't get your money back, but know that many - even extremely experienced - users have had this bad luck. It's called an expensive lesson... Good luck man.
