you need a usb FPGA it only costs 1 bitcoin. here is the item you are looking for.

http://www.em.avnet.com/en-us/design/drc/Pages/Xilinx-Spartan-6-FPGA-LX9-MicroBoard.aspx

it's not very powerful but it can be a lot of fun to play around with... if your brother has the patience to find and install the programs.

If you think my efforts are worth something; I'll keep on keeping on.

Jb. That looks interesting...what else do you know about the fpga.   Speed? And difficulty setting up?

Thanks!

I've never used that unit, but the software to set it up is included and you'll simply need to find a spartan 6 mining program. It won't be more than a few megahashes no more than 6, but still better than hashing with a cpu.

Anyone know how fast this one would mine?

I have to ask...why in God's name would someone actually be willing to spend that much on a miner?  You are shooting yourself in the foot unless you continually throttle yourself to no more than 51% of the current combined hashing capability.  And all it is at this point is a promise.

That's nuts...

Last time I checked, 10TH/s wasn't anywhere close to 51% of the network.  Roll Eyes

Jokes aside... but if you have say 20 - 50 of these.. and channel the heat into a concentrated space... This would make one good coffee cup warmer.
