Hello fellow miners

i ask you because i want to use 6 ztex boards i aquired but i only can use one if i add a second one my cgminer crashes  so heres the problem

i used http://sourceforge.net/projects/libwdi/files/zadig/  to install the http://www.libusb.org/ driver to get windows to "talk" with one board if i add another board windows uses the same driver and it get listed in device manager so if i plug in all 6 boards i get 6 devices and even cgminer recognize 5 boards when i start it but crashes immediately after scanning usb

i checked the device manager and it seems that every board has the same usb id so i suppose the seem to deliver the same identity  to the system and if cgminer wants to "talk" to them the whole 6 boards have the same "port" and therefore crashes because with only one board it works

- so is there a recommended usb driver for ztex ?
- what system and driver do you use with windows and ztex ?

- anything else i have to obey when working with more than 1 ztex board ?

please help me  Smiley

Removed... thought you were talking about a graphics card. I should have looked-up ztex. lol. Thought it was a ghetto card manufacture.

Sounds like a "powered-hub" failure on the mobo... Try adding a real powered hub. The onboard hubs are crap. Could also be an issue related to "turn off USB devices not in use"... if the devices are that low powered, or failing to communicate, the hub may turn them off, and "fail to wake on USB activity". (Just shooting in the dark for common things.)

Also, USB 1,2 or 3 Huh

nope it is really wired  -

i put on 2 Ztex boards  each with seperat power supply

i use the driver ztex delivers and their own java based mining programm   btcminer   i find both boards installed in windows  but the miner only recognizes one board and refuses to mine using -m c ( for cluster mode)

i put on 1 ztex board and it mines perfeclty with the java btcminer

--> i change usb driver towards  libusb.org drivers

i can use cgminer again with 1  board but not with 2 boards

--> i just dont get it what is wrong every board has their unique usb adress  i tried windows xp windows 7 and windows 8  i tried different usb drivers and i tried 2 different systems  1 thinkcentre  and 1 tx ibm laptop

i got some kind of solution finally

i dont know how and why but i tried an old  libusb driver  this one  libusb-win32-bin-1.2.6.0  and installed a fresh windows 7 on the laptop and it worked with btcminer but! with original ztex driver it won't  i got 3 boards working and iam currently watching for the performance the deliver

so my advice form ppl. with similar probs  test different usb drivers  even older drivers  maybe they work

additionally on the other systems win xp and win 8 this old driver isn't working and i can only use 1 board  very wired
